For those in the North/East of Hartford area, would anyone be interested in a kick-off write-in on Sunday, November 1st? Maybe late morning, so we can recover from Halloween, but we're still getting a reasonably early start on our NaNoWriMo.

Here are some possible locations, all right along the I-84 corridor east of Hartford:

The first four all have free wi-fi; the last two do not have wi-fi at all, to the best of my knowledge.

- Borders near Buckland Hills mall
- B & N inside Buckland Hills Mall.
- Panera on Deming street in Manchester (near exit 63 on I-84)
- Between Rounds in Vernon, intersection of routes 30 & 83, (near exit 64 on I-84)
- Cafe Lafayette, a really cool Mom & Pop joint at Rockville/Tolland line, (near exit 67 on I-84)
- Bagels & More in Tolland, (near exit 68 on I-84)

If you're interested, tell me which location works best for you. We could just show up at any of them, although I'd probably give Cafe Lafayette a courtesy call first.

I would love to do that! Cafe Lafayette sounds pretty neat and its a bit of a drive for me but I would be willing to go there, if you like it. Late morning works for me.

If this was scheduled in the evening I would absolutely be there. The cafe lafayette sounds surprisingly interesting for that area.

Transportation is a problem for me, but the B&N at Buckland would be my best bet.

There is a kickoff Write In at Borders near Buckland Hills Mall (it's on Pavillions drive, which is the road that connects to the back side of the mall parking lot and runs down the hill to Buckland Drive. It's the very short road where Sam's Club and Office Depot are located; Pier One is on the corner if you're coming from the Buckland Drive end.

The writein starts at 10:00 AM. I'll have signage.

My mother and I will probably be there. Looking forward to it!

I'm looking forward to Sunday morning! Do we know how long we'll be staying at Borders? They don't close on Sunday's until 7 pm. Just wondering!

I'm sure we can stay as long as we want. I will bring chocolate, which is one of the three basic writer food groups, along with caffeine and wine.

Hello, first post and first attempt at NaNo in a few years. I'd like to be at this meeting, since it's right next door. I currently have plans for tomorrow, but they're up in the air. Should they get canceled, I think an all day work session would do wonders for my chances of success this year.

I'm coming in a little late in the game but may join as well. This is my first attempt. Any of the other locations are convenient for me future write-ins. Cafe Lafayette is a great one. Easy to get to, good food but still tucked out of the way of hustle/bustle. Thanks for organizing, Toni!

Thank you to Toni and everyone else who helped organize today's write in! I had a lot of fun :-)
