Awesome! I'm Emily (Emi for short). A pleasure to meet you. I'm FREAKING out. I wanna get started lol. I'm not paying attention in my classes...I'm too busy brainstorming ideas for my story and making an outline. It's like...7 pages right now. It's GREAT. I've never been so excited before.

Excitement is great! I think mine's more like nervous energy, and I'm going the opposite of you and not thinking much about my story until I start writing. I guess I want to keep it highly organic. Maybe we could meet up to write sometime.
Wonderful! If anyone wants to officially organize something, what if we post in this thread as well as any others about meet-ups? The word Webster always catches my attention on the thread title so I'll be sure to keep checkin it :)
Hurrah! More Websterites! I'm where life is worth living too ... anyone want to add as writing buddies?!

I'm very excited about Nano, only one more week after this one. :)
I'm not in Webster, but close enough to possibly join in any write-ins or gatherings depending on time and location. I was in Fairport for the last few years, and it felt like most people were on the East side and in the Henrietta area. It does take a bit longer to get out to Fairport than other towns in the area (though I do miss the village, I need to go stop by the cafe and Red Bird Market sometime).
Question: What sorts of places do you all recommend food wise around this area? With Nano coming I'll probably eat out a bit more with the hubby, less stuff to clean up at home. (I eat just about anything really, I'm partial to Japanese and Chinese food, but also like other sorts of stuff. I did just go to Fujia the first time Monday and it was quite good. Nice selection of foods, they have various sushi, but also more entree type stuff to).
As far as food goes, I like the Chinese resturant in the Wallmart plaza (near Blockbuster) and the sub place (DeBella's ?) in the same plaza. They're both local award-winning resturants. Jade Palace is good, too.
The best pizza is in the town of Webster on 250 just north of Ridge Rd. On the right (heading North) across from U-haul.
Not sure what those places are. I know of where you're talking about. I just have a problem remembering. So where could everyone meet? Just curious. There is a B&N in webster, also the public library.

Wow, it makes me really happy to know that there's a couple people from Webster here this year! I live in Webster, myself, and it's a great little city with some of the best food out here, in my opinion. The cuisine hub of Webster, in my opinion, is right at the corners of Empire and Bay Rd near to the Eastway Wegmans - which is also the best Wegmans out here, save the gigantic two-story monstrosity with the Tastings restaurant.
Foodwise, there's a great new Indian food place that just opened up next to Pier One Imports on the corner of Bay and Empire, Tandoor Flame. Right down the road, next to Abbot's, there's the best Japanese food restaurant out here called Fujiya, which is run by Suki and Sunny, who used to work for Tokyo/Shanghai and Plum Garden out in Henrietta. They now have sushi platters for take-out only, which are amazing... For Chinese food, I prefer Royal Dynasty next to Blockbuster in the Walmart plaza, also. The best place for "real" Chinese food and excellent dim sum (this side of the border) is Cantonese House out on Winton Rd in Henrietta, though. Pattaya, out on Penfield Rd, is by far the best Thai restaurant out here. For the best Mexican food, hands down, it's Monte Alban, which opened a couple months ago a couple doors down from Fujiya.
I'm originally from Southern California, then I lived in Portland for three years, so I compare everything I eat to what I've had back west. There are some hits and misses, but these are the best places I've tasted so far!
As far as meeting places go, there's a cute little coffee show called Earthtones on Bay Rd that's run by a sweet lady. They have tasty desserts and drinks, as well as food items like paninis, soups, and a great, homey atmosphere if anyone wanted to have a write-in. I believe they have wi-fi, too. I've never done a write-in before, but I'd probably be more likely to talk to everyone, rather than keep myself focused on writing, heh...
I look forward to meeting some of you eventually! This will be my second NaNo attempt, I was amazed I completed it last year and I'm very anxious to start, though I have next to nothing as of yet. It was a last minute decision, prompted by my husband, who really encouraged me to do it again this year.

Jeffiner-
I'm doing ok. Impressed myself by getting just over 2100 words written yesterday. My hubby has been extremely supportive and has all but ordered me to go write, he'll take care of whatever needs doing. Hoping to stay ahead of the curve as much as possible as the end of the month looks like a time wash-out for me. I'm free Tues and Thurs evenings (generally) for write-ins, although Tues might be a problem this week.
I hope to hit at least 6k tonight, because tomorrow night, when we meet at Jitters, I'm thinking I'll probably be distracted with socializing more than actually writing :) These things happen.... I try to pluck out a couple hundred each day on my "off" days, but some days I wind up not writing at all, then I have to play catch-up. It's kind of intimidating to miss two days in a row, then you're flailing and screaming, "Oh my god, I need to make up over 3,000 words tonight!" Hehehe...
I'm doing good, otherwise, trying to get warmed up and motivated to eat something, because I haven't yet. I have a glass of cold almond milk, because I can't stand the thought of eating anything just yet. Blech...I have weird texture-intolerant days.
