This is a thread for people to arrange or to post local write-in events, since it looks like people are already starting to plan them.

Anyone interested in meeting at the Newburyport Public Library? I can reserve one of the only rooms where we can have coffee or snacks. The one drawback is that we'd have to leave promptly by 9pm.

Mondays and Thursdays are best for me--anybody else?

I'll put mine here as well: I'm not in the Newburyport area, but we do have one write-in event scheduled at the Hamilton-Wenham Library (loc. South Hamilton) for November 13...ie. Friday the 13th!!.

We will have a room specifically set aside for novelists, and I'm planning to have snacks. If you want to arrange more write-in events just let us know, but of course writers are welcome to come by any time that we are open.

Hours of operation:
Monday - Thursday 10:00am - 8:00pm
Friday 10:00am - 5:00pm
Saturday 10:00am - 4:00pm
Sunday Closed

I live in Woburn, but I'm in Salem a lot too. If there's interest I'll organize a write-in in either (or both) area.

Absolutely! Mondays are good (except for the second Monday of the month) and Thursdays are fine. If we get some interest, I'd be happy to bring a little something for folks to munch on!

Newburyport works swimmingly for me since I work in town :)

I also own a small art gallery in Georgetown, MA if we need somewhere to come together and write. It'll be private since we'll be the only people there, haha

I just need to check when my husband is going to China - I'm personally voting for the week of Thanksgiving - so I can have t.v. dinners for me and the girls. When he isn't around I won't be able to go out.

Anyway - Mon or Th nights in NBPT - fabulous
I live in Georgetown - would love to hang at an art gallery. Perhaps if I run out of story one night something in the gallery can be written in.
What time on Fri the 13th is the write-in at the Hamilton-Wenham library. Might be able to go - I volunteer in my daughter's school library on Fridays normally.

Can't wait for Nov 1st! Yippee! Beth

Friday we open at 10 and close at 5. I have two rooms reserved. The large meeting room is available to us all day; the children's programming room is available starting at 12. It will be very casual: people can drop in and drop out as they please. There will be tables and chairs, an extension cord (for laptops) and tons of scrap paper and pencils. There will also be coffee and snacks.

Anybody up for a write-in at the Starbucks on Elliott St in Ryal Side, Beverly? I am planning to spend a lot of time there in November. =)

Hey everyone! This is Michele, your ML. I am working on organizing some write-ins in the lower North Shore area and potentially a big Meet Up pre-Nano for next week.

I sent you all an email several days ago but realized that my auto signature didn't appear AND it didn't automatically alert you that it was NaNo related. Please check your spam filters for an email fromm missluckster@gmail.com and containing the subject line "Are we seriously crazy?!"

I'd love to hear from all of you!

Best-

Michele

OK, Friends, I am putting a stake in the ground. I am hereby announcing a write-in on Monday, November 2, from 6:30 - 9 PM at Starbucks in Ryal Side, Beverly. The address is 242 Elliott Street, Beverly, and I will be there with bells on.

Please send me a private message if you're in so I can line up the tables. The staff at this Sbux is friendly and there are LOTS and LOTS of electrical outlets!

Cheers,

Louise

Is anyone else interested in getting a room at the Newburyport library on the Mondays *before* Nov 16 - that would be the 2nd and the 9th? I don't live in a town in the MVLC system anymore and so don't have a current card (if that is required for reservation), but would love to get into the routine of weekly Monday write-ins....

Hey Michelle
So what do you consider " the lower North Shore area" ?
I'm in Peabody and would love to do something kind of local ;-)

I'd love to do something in Salem. Starbucks is a stand-by, but Gulu-Gulu Cafe is great -- and very artist-friendly. Would anyone else be interested? I could do any weekday after 7 pm, Saturdays after 3 pm, or anytime Sundays.

I live in Beverly, about a mile away from said Starbucks. I'm definitely up for that. :-)
Salem sounds good too, but I'll only be able to make it on a Friday or weekend unless my afternoon classes are cancelled.

I would LOVE write-ins in the Salem/Peabody area! Preferably on weekends, since I work nights. Gulu-Gulu sounds interesting, I could definitely do that. We gotta get it together soon 'cause the time is sooooo near!!! *is super excited to begin* =)

This is my first NaNoWriMo and I've never organized a write-in or anything similar. Do we need to ask Gulu-Gulu or get permission? Or do we just all show up? How long do the write-ins usually last? If we're only going to be there for an hour or so we can probably just show up, especially if we plan on ordering any food or drinks, right?

Hello, friends - just a reminder that we'll have a write-in at Starbucks in Beverly (Ryal Side, 242 Elliott Street) tomorrow night, Monday, November 2, at 6:30 PM.

I'm already having fun being a rebel and writing my memoir, and I'll look forward to meeting fellow WriMos tomorrow.

Cheers and happy writing,

Louise

And I will be there tomorrow night at the Starbucks. I've got frizzy brown hair, black glasses, and I'll be making a NaNo shirt tomorrow afternoon. See everyone then!

Does anyone have an interest in having write-ins on days other than Monday in Newburyport? I work until 9 on Mondays and Wednesdays, and I'd like to get a chance to come to a few write-ins in the area. I'm currently using Seabrook Starbucks as my writing area, but it gets boring sitting and writing by yourself for hours on end.

I'd quite like a Gulu-Gulu write-in ... or Jaho. Jaho might be a quieter bet, and small groups congregate there all the time.
