I hosted a couple write-ins in 2007, but only two people came. I haven't heard of anyone since. I can't plan any regular write-ins this year (due to massive amounts of work that is NOT NaNoWriMo), but if people are interested, maybe we could try for one or two big ones?

I'd appreciate a west Seattle write in or two! I'm down in white center but can meet anywhere

It seemed like the thing to do at the time...

Yay! I'm down on Alki, but really... anywhere's good for me. Are any of your Fridays open in the afternoon?

I live in West Seattle and would be interested in a write-in out here. I'm trying to keep my calendar clear in November so I can attend things, but at this point I can't make any promises.

Just taking a poll... what days would be best for you guys? You don't have to commit, just give me the best two days.

I would say Wednesday and Sunday are usually best for me.

hey gang, I have done Nanowrimo a couple years now but trying to do another one and win it! And it looks like I am going to be able to rope in a friend or two to try it for the first time :) I am on south delridge near home depot, but my friends live near the ws junction. as per locations, any ideas? fridays / sats cupcake royale is open til nine. further down on california (towards thriftway) cafe ladro is open til 10 i think. uptown espresso is open til 11 on fri / sat.

I would just like to say that Uptown Espresso is amazing and we should have write ins there. Also, I really don't like the cupcakes at Cupcake Royale.

I live in W. Seattle and Uptown Espresso or Cupcake Royale works for me...Sunday afternoons are good...during the week only Wednesday wouldn't work.

I also live in West Seattle, near Alki. I'd love to get together for write-ins on Sunday afternoons for sure, other days may be tough. Uptown Espresso or any of the other suggestions would work lovely.

So, let's say Uptown for location because they have space and good hours. My brain just got done with exams this week, and am now working on researching a term paper, so needless to say I am not quite back on track with 'thinking'. Anyone want to figure out a day for sometime this week? we can alter it weekly if we want.

I can make West Seattle write-ins as easily as I can Southcenter area, thanks to the #128 bus (Admiral District to Southcenter, including White Center in there). Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoons/evenings I'll be at S.center area write-ins but others in the evening after work would be righteous. I'm working two Saturdays in November (7th, 21st) but other than those I could make Saturday write-ins.

So, do Saturdays and Sundays sound good? We could do two this weekend, see who shows up and see if we want to do more? I am sacrificing this weekend to NaNoing, so I can definitely show.

Or would just Sunday be better? I can't make it tomorrow, but maybe on the eighth?

After looking back and comparing peoples' comments, it looks like Sunday afternoons seem to be best (Uptown is open til 10 on Sundays). Early, mid afternoon? I can usually get there probably around 1230 / 1-ish, I can tentatively agree to get there first. Crap, I need to find my duck...

I think Sundays at 1 would work best, I can get there at that time too.

Cool, I will post that to the thread about events to get it on the calendar and let people know.

Ellen, I am not sure but I may not be here for Sunday the 15th, I should know the details in a couple days. If I won't be there, might you perhaps be able to be there that day for any other people to come?

Um, hi. Yeah, I'm near 35th & Morgan. This is my first NaNoMo. I'm around Fridays and weekends, usually. Friday mornings are good. I usually hang out at the Tully's at Morgan & California by the Thriftway, but Uptown Espresso looks like a nice place for a bigger group. Or would be happy to be online "buddies."

Sundays at 1 p.m. at Uptown Espresso works well for me. I can make it this coming Sunday.

Yeah, I'll be there every Sunday unless my immediate family starts dying off.

Morbid part of me laughed first, then I felt bad. Hope that doesn't start happening! :P

Sweet, so it isn't yet on the calendar, but it's solidified amongst us. Sundays, 1 pm, Uptown Espresso in the WS Junction. See y'all there!

Don't worry, I meant it to be funny. And while I do hope that my family does not start dying off, I think a morbid sense of humor is useful in life. Unless you want to be sane, of course, but really... do you think anyone doing NaNoWriMo is sane?

Yay! I shall be there! :D

Er, just wondering... on the schedule, it says the write ins start at ten. I'm guessing that's an error?

Yep. Just noticed it, going to comment on the thread to correct it.

The write in today was fun... it didn't seem like a lot of people came, though. Was there anyone who was sitting there with their laptop, too shy to ask anyone if they were doing NaNoWriMo? Yes? No? In case there were, next time, look around you for a duck! Next time, I am bringing a small army of ducks and a brightly colored sign. You won't be able to avoid us then!!!
