All new and returning Wrimos are invited!
EVENT: LaneNaNo Kick-Off Party
LOCATION: 5th Street Public Market, 296 East 5th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon
DAY: Saturday, October 31st -- HALLOWEEN
TIME: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm (or so)
HOSTED BY: Darfinkle and Twilite, your marvelous Municipal Liaisons
Wow! It's Halloween and that means Kick-Off time for NaNoWriMo! Our Kick-Off is a laid back affair. Drop by, in costume if you like, pick up the absolute necessities for surviving the wild and crazy month of November, and meet your Municipal Liaisons and fellow Lane Wrimos.
We will be in the Community Room which is inside the food court area on the upper floor near the exit to 5th Avenue. Just look for the flourescent yellow-green t-shirt clad Municipal Liaison known as Darfinkle and some brightly colored signs.
If this is your first NaNoWriMo, we strongly suggest you come. Everyone will get copies of the wordcount tracking calendar, Noveling Agreement Form, Magna Cartas I and II, The Rules, tips and tricks for winning, participant stickers, and so on and so forth. For those who are returning, there will be something new and different, but it's a surprise.

This will be my first year actually attempting NaNoWriMo so I'll try really hard to make it here! I think I've even convinced my dad to drive me over to Shari's for the midnight start write too! Hopefully getting involved with the group will get me to actually attempt to write this year >w<

This will be my first try in the US ... hopefully I'll make it further than the 37,000 words of 2005 (so close!). I've been looking for something to do on Halloween anyway - I'll be there!

You are welcome to stop by and stay as long as you wish. I expect that folks will drop in, pick up their stuff, socialize a bit, and leave to celebrate Halloween. I'll be repeating myself over and over, but I'm not planning on using my voice much later in the evening.
Sure, it's quite alright to bring something to share if you would like. This particular location does not have food or beverage limitations. Your MLs may have the presence of mind to bring a vegie or fruit tray.

Our Kick-Off was a rousing success. In fact, it far exceeded my expectations, at least in attendance. I had planned for 20 and 36 people showed up. Every time I looked behind me, someone new had arrived.
