I may be the only one participating in NaNoWriMo in Ukraine, but I wanted to at least drop an email here to see if there are others.
I'm out in L'viv right now, though grew up in Northern California. Have also lived in Kyiv, Odesa, and Kherson.
I'll be trying either fantasy or sci-fi, as that's the genre I most enjoy. This is my third NaNoWriMo, by the way.
Drop a response in this thread if you're in the area!
Cheers,
Dan

Hi all,
I'm from Ukraine, Lviv-Kyiv-Kharkiv.
My first NaNoWriMo in such format, though not the first short-time-writing struggle.

Alright! Wasted way to much time on trivialities. Now time to write!
Awesome that there are so many writers in Ukraine participating!
I took the liberty of "Buddying" all Ukraine writers, i hope you accept so that we can see each others progress and help introduce some mutual Ukrainian team spirit!
Rock n roll! Day one is upon us!

Yes! I'm in Ukraine, too! I'm from the east coast of the US, and this is my third NaNoWriMo! I've won/ finished for the past two years, but then I was at home! This year brings a new adventure and lots of challenges, but I'll do my best! Best of luck to all-- :)

Hi, everyone!
I'm so glad that I posted asking if there was anyone else out here like myself.
Since most of you are in Kyiv, I hope you've been able to connect with one another. Since some of the others here are elsewhere in Ukraine, and it's always nice to get everyone together, perhaps we might have a virtual write-in for ourselves?
Tell you what, I've created a chatroom on my site for hosting a virtual write-in, if you'd like to stop by.
It is here:
http://inkless.danmcminn.net/nanowrimo-2009-chat/
the password is:
2009
I will try to be in the room whenever I'm writing. If any of you would like to drop by, please do! The chat functionality I'm using is from "chatroll." You don't have to have an account with them to come join, but if you do, then you can join under your own handle, rather than as a guest.
Hope to chat with some of you soon!
Good luck with your words.

Ok!
Lot's of writing to do this weekend 14th-15th. Need to leave my apartment and write somewhere in a cafe in Kyiv.
No matter what your word count is at this point, even if it's zero, it's still not too late in the month to recover and achieve 50k by month's end.
Writing in my apartment is close to impossible with all the little trivialities that suddenly become super important...in this month i've become an expert dish washer, clothes launderer, irrelevant news media watcher, and general tinkerer and futz arounder.
So where to put the words on the page, on saturday morning? sunday morning? Outlet friendly, laptop friendly cafes? Copious amounts of good coffee at earthly prices?
Kupidon on Prorizna?
Other suggestions?
Anyone wish to join?
Petro

Hi, All!
Good luck in this last weekend. I hope y'all make 50,000. I've got 12,000 words to go, but three days to do it in. Charge!
