Hey everyone - I've made a Facebook Page for those of you who use Facebook to keep up-to-date on the latest Charleston NaNo News, and to keep in touch with your fellow Wrimos throughout the year. Just search for "Charleston Wrimos", click on the link in the "Regional Info" tab above, or follow the link below:

I plan on making an LJ community as well if there are enough of us on LJ (if you are on either site, go Pimp Yourself at the thread with the same name)

Huh, it turns out that I can't get on Facebook at work (I can get on MySpace, which I don't use, so I really don't understand this), so if you see anyone with a pressing question on the FB page, please send them my way!
I'll be making the LJ community today!

Just a reminder that from Oct 30th through Nov 4th or so, this forum is going to be crawling along at a snails pace, as many last-minute people sign up and many first-minute people upload their word counts. Bookmark the FB and LJ pages before Oct 30th so you can get any NaNo news even when the forums are down! (Like, Write-In dates/times and messages that the site has completely crashed and no one can access it for a while - which hopefully wont happen).

Becka -- Could you post the URL for the FB page again? I'll be sure and bookmark it then and though I think I've joined that group, I can't quite remember. (Will check FB right now.)
I don't think I'll come to the write-in on the 1st -- November will be very busy for me and I start training the very next day for a new position at my workplace. The following day (Tuesday the 4th), I'm clerking in our municipal election, which means I'll be gone from 6 a.m. till probably 10:30 at night. Not a good day to do any writing!
It's gonna get busy, so in the interest of getting lots of words written Sunday, I'm going to stay home and try to jack up the count to get off on the right foot. (You said yourself at the kick-off party that there's more socializing than writing at the write-ins -- for me, not a very good idea at the moment!) Hope to join you at another one later.
And how about the Mount Pleasant writers? Any chance we can do an evening write-in at maybe B&N in Town Centre, or somewhere else close by? NOT driving 40 miles round trip would be a big bonus for me. Anyone else up for it? I can probably do almost any night except Tuesday (depending on my son's post-season baseball schedule).
Also -- in the Shameless Self-Promotion Department -- and remembering that Becka did ask me to post this -- I'm going to be on television on Wednesday, November 4th (the first Wednesday of Nano). If you need a break around 10 p.m., tune in The History Channel. The show is MysteryQuest: Alcatraz, Residence of Evil, and I'm featured as an `expert' on the subject. (I wrote a book about it that was published a couple of years ago -- the producer of this show got hold of it, liked it and asked me to be on.) The show runs an hour and there's already a 3-minute trailer for it on YouTube and The History Channel website.
Enjoy!
Susan

Susan,
If you scroll up to the very first post in this thread you will see the link to the FB page. I can't get on FB at work, so I can't actually go to the link and re-copy it. I believe there was also a link in the last newsletter I sent out, if you still have that. I'll re-send the link tonight with this week's newsletter.
As for setting up a Mt. P mini - I would post in the Mt P thread that is a little lower down on the forum - that way you know Mt P people are going to look at it (they may skip over this thread if they aren't on FB or LJ).
I'll also let everyone know in my newsletter that you are going to be on TV during November! At the least they can TIVO it and watch it in Dec :)
