Heya C-bus:
I work 4 x 10s with Fridays off and would like to schedule a write in for one or more Friday.
Please let me know if you would be interested and, if so, what time and location you would prefer.

If I have fridays off.... I can come too.

This is the fun, of having a randomized schedule. I don't know what I have yet for November. Plus I just started so I have no time off for anything.

But yeah, if I have any fridays off, I'll be there!

Hi Eliza:

Friday write-ins work for me. I'm free most daytimes. I live in Upper Arlington, but am willing to travel. I like to go someplace where we can easily get a bite of lunch without having to pick up and move.

I'm a bit of a late sleeper so would prefer a 10AM start time or after.

I like Stauf's in Grandview or Cup O' Joe on the cap at I-670. There's also a little coffeehouse very close to me (near Riverside Drive and Fishinger) called Colin's. They serve panini sandwiches and grilled cheese and tomato soup every day. Not very fancy, but it works. Panera always works too.

I'd be willing to go anywhere.

Friday write ins work for me. I can travel.

An internet connection might be nice to have. I use it all the time for spontaneous research and also for Dr. Wicked when I am stuck.

Heya Nita:

Does Collins have an internet connection? I pass it every morning on my way to work, but have only been in once or twice. I think it would be nice to go local like Staufs or Collins.

Yes! Both Colin's and Stauf's have great free wifi. One note, Colin's is only open until 2:00PM although if we're there, they usually let us sit there until 2:30 while they clean up. I wholeheartedly agree with going local.

I'd love to attend some Friday write-ins, and I also can travel. There's a new coffee shop (Travonna) on High St. near 5th that seems like a good place to write... they even have a conference room (big table with 6 chairs) that would be great for a small group. They have good food too, daily soups and sandwiches and stuff. And a free parking lot nearby!

I'd love to hit all of these places for nano! Love the idea of supporting local businesses for this.

I've read the reviews for Travonna, and I woudn't mind writing there few times. I agree it'd be nie to try a few place that's not Panera.

I really really miss The Coffee Table. That was my premier place to write.

I'm glad that there is an interest in Fridays!

Take a peek at the following and let me know what you think:

November 6th: 10 AM - 4PM at Travonna in the Short North
November 13th: 10 AM - 4PM at Collins Coffee on Riverside Drive
November 20th: 10 AM - 4PM at Cup of Joe in German Village
November 27th: This is the day after Thanksgiving, I will be out of town - should we schedule something?

I'm happy to speak with the managment at Cup O'Joe (this is the one on 3rd smack between thier MoJoe cafe and the beloved Book Loft. If we agree on Travonna and Collins would Nita and Chaoticpi be willing to coordinate?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions - see you on Sunday!

Colin's is only open until 2PM each day. I could talk to them and see if they would stay open depending on how many people will be attending.

I'll have to miss the first one (going to Faeriecon that weekend to meet my favorite author, Charles de Lint!) but I am totally on board with the rest. I will be on town on black friday if anyone else wants to meet up!

Thanks for all the replies.
I'd say we are ready to get these on the calendar with two changes:
1 Adeletka: where would you like to meet on Black Friday?
2 Let's change the Colins write-in time to end at two, we can always head over to Staufs if we are still in the mood.
Sound good?

I will try to make some of those dates. My husband is off that day and can watch our kids. I live right next to Easton. Is the Cup O Joe's this location:

600 N High Street
Columbus, OH 43215?

Glad you can join in! Cup of Joe in German Village is on 3rd, which runs parallel to High Street and two or three blocks to the East...it's the main drag in German Village.
Here's a link with address and map etc.:
http://www.yelp.com/biz/cup-ojoe-columbus-2
If you've never been to this location, then you're in for a big treat - it's the original and the best. It's also next to the Book Loft, Columbus' glorious 32 room independent book store! The view from the patio is divine, it has a Mo- Joe Cafe with beer, wine, and yummy food too - and (if it couldn't get any better) they also serve Jeni's ice cream.

Oh for goodness sakes. They're already on the calendar. Sorry.

BTW - Colin's only has one "L" in it. In case you search for it.

See ya soon.

That's the place! It is a little south of 5th Ave. They have a twitter account and a facebook page but no website!

I plan on coming this Friday...just to verify, it's 10 a.m. at Travonna, right? I've never been there and am looking forward to trying a new place. Also looking forward to meeting everyone! I might not be there right at ten, but I'll be there...

Will anyone be here after 4? I can't get away until at least 6, unless y'all want a very active toddler running around (I know I don't). :) I'm willing to show up though, either here or somewhere else.

Hey, can someone please give me the exact address to the Colin's Coffee shop, (on Riverside Drive) for the write-in on this Friday - the 13th?? I will be driving from way out of town, so I need the address to plug into my GPS on order to be better able to find this place!! I will already be in Columbus, because I have to drop my mom off there, so I will most likely be able to go. Idk yet if I can make it there by 10am tho, I might be like 45mins to an hour late... But any information would still be great, thanks!!! =)
