I know I'm absolutely STOKED that November first is ten days away! We even get an extra hour of noveling on November first with daylight savings time starting that day. I've been working on my outline, getting some plot notes down on paper and finishing up some touches on the goodies I'm handing out at the kickoff party and printing things out this week.

I am SO EXCITED about this, guys, so seriously. I'm sure I'll be hitting the doldrums with my novel around the second week just like everyone else, but I've got all of you to keep me going and you've got each other and me to keep you going. I can feel the writing itch surging!!

So I was curious. What are all of you doing to get ready for the WriMo this year? Are any of you nervous? Freaking out? Ready to split your seams like I am?

No...not quite at the seams...lol I don't do anything to write. I just sit down and do it. Sometimes it may take me a few minutes to ingest all of my thoughts and put them into the words I want them to be. It may sound disorganized, but I've very rarely ever classified as disorganized when the final product is finished and laminated. The only real thing I have slight problems with are the names of the characters I use. Sometime when the whole thing is written I sometimes go back and change the name of a character, just because I didn't think it was a good name from the start.

I have never been one to actually sit down and lay out every little detail of a story. I sit, I start writing and I see where I am when I stop. If there's a book, awesome. If not, that's when the edits begin and I know where I might need to go, what I need to do and where things are weak plot-wise. So it's not really that odd of a thing at all. At least not in my opinion.

Character names are a difficult thing for me as well. I always think mine sound contrite. Mary Sue HO!
