Hi, any Sussex Uni Students out there? I'm not entirely sure about this, seems like a fun and interesting idea, but I'm not sure if I have the time.
Also, weekly meetings etc sound interesting if I do go ahead, but I don't think I'd just want to turn up on my own :)

Hey, I'm a third year physics student studying at Sussex. I know there are other students and ex-students lurking around too, though I'll let them introduce themselves.
Also, you should totally do it and give it a go! It'll be fun! It's my first year too, and given my work load I've no idea if I'll manage to finish, but I'm darned well going to try just because I'll be really annoyed if I let the opportunity to be involved in something this crazy pass me by. Even if you don't finish, it'll probably feel better to have tried than not. At least, I know it will for me.
Equally, I'll be turning up to as many of the weeklies as I can make, which currently is all of them, I think.
Good luck!

*waves* Sussex Uni staff here, that count? I just started working in Sussex House around the start of term. I agree, I'm pretty sure there's a few more US peoples hanging around here.
----------I'll miss the launch party, but hope to be at the ones after that... I went to some last year, they were pretty much awesome.

Hello!
I'm a third year Eng Lit student at Sussex, and I'll be at the launch party, plus as many weekly meetings as I can :) Nano is the best procrastination available for uni work. It's also LOTS of fun.

Oh yay good :) Thanks for your encouragement!
I'll be seeing how next week goes workwise, but it can't hurt to try, can it?

i'm a sussex uni student and I've managed it before, though this year I'll be cheer leading. The LPC is like two years work in one - very intense, so I can't manage it this year.

Ok you Sussex Uni NaNos,
I have a request:
I'm setting some of the scene at sussex uni in Room 155 Arts A so if any of you are visiting that infamous seminar room in the next couple of weeks, drop me a line and let me know whether the mural is still up there and name any faces you may recognise.
Thanks

I have a couple of questions too...
My novel is set mainly in Brighton, but a couple of my characters (Steve and Emmy) are from Sussex Uni. Where would they go for a coffee (they are both physics students, but they've just run into each other outside the library), and can they access the internet on Emmy's laptop from there (wireless)?
I vaguely recall that there is a coffee shop/cafetaria in "the bridge" (if my memory is not totally failing) but that might be used by IT people?
Of course, this is an alternate Brighton, so I could make it up...

Myself and Time Bat will be hanging around the common room (Falmer House) tomorrow (Wed) from about 1-4. Feel free to drop in and say hi. He's the one in black with purple hair. I'm the girl with the purple scarf (that some of you should remember). Omega1989 should be around sometime too, but he's boring and doesn't have anything purple (as far as I know....).

Oooh! Oooh! I'm a physics student!
While the Bridge is a possibility, the most likely actual answer is tonnes more awesome. The physics department actually provides physics students and staff with free tea/coffee, a kettle and cups in a little kitchen next to the physics library/Pevensey 2 foyer. (It was converted from a disabled toilets, to get an idea of size) There's a fridge there to store food too, so they might have food stored there too. As it's free, and they're students, it's where most physics students go for their coffee/tea, though you do have to make it yourself.
Also, the door out of the kitchen is to the Pevensy 2 foyer where there are various tables, chairs and sofas, as well as Wi-fi access, or they could walk into the physics library which is just a couple of metres up a corridoor and about the same size ad the foyer, but has more desk space and some movable white boards if they needed to work through something together. Wi-fi can be got in there too.
Hope that helps! I can provide more detail if required, as sadly it feels I sometimes live in the physics library (or phlibrary if you're really (not) cool)
EDIT: Kaliopæ is correct, I will be there (Falmer House common room) from around 12, maybe a bit before. I can be identified as the person with brown hair in a pony tail who is typing madly into a tiny white laptop.
EDIT EDIT: Also, feel free to post/nanomail me about any other questions you might have about the life of a physics student at Sussex Uni, if you have a couple of characters who are such.

See now, I was going to go home and do my reading like I'm meant to, but I might stick around now... Since I'm wearing a purple hat. On the other hand, I didn't bother to bring my laptop, so you will probably all be pointing and laughing at my old fashioned notebook - the kind with pages, as opposed to the variety you plug in... Falmer House, you say?

Thanks - just what I needed to know. I think I recognise you from the kick-off/launch thingy by "physics student" and "tiny white laptop". So I may accost you at one of the nano-moots, if I see you. (Be warned!)
It's a bit sad that I recognise people by their laptops...

As I mentioned to some of you at the meeting, myself and others will be around in the Falmer common room on Wed from 1-4. Again, I'll have the scarf and Time Bat will have purple hair, so hopefully we're noticeable. We should be there every Wed during Nov (and after), so feel free to come and visit us and chat at any point.
