Thought I would put the proper details up so everyone knows what is happening.
The meet up is tomorrow, Thursday 22nd. and it is in Cafe Rapor on York Road in Hartlepool at 2pm, until they kick us out :D
If you know Hartlepool, then you'll probs know where you are going, its just about at the corner of York Road and Park Road.
if you don't know Hartlepool, or are coming in on the bus or train, then this is how you get there.
From the train station:
Turn Right as you come out of the train station and you will see Church square (and a church strangely enough.) The other side of the church is the main road, Cross over that and head up that street to the cross roads, That takes you past the shopping centre. Then turn left at the cross roads and Cafe Rappor is jsut before the next set of crossroads. It's really not as far as it sounds.
If you are getting the bus down, then it is pretty much the same directions. Unless you get dropped off near the library. If that is the case then you can pretty muc see Cafe Rapor from there. (If you see a Subway sign, then turn around and go the other way)
By Car.
Yeah... Follow the signs for the town centre. After that, you might be on your own unless you have a map. Cos I cannot give directions for a car to save my life. And it depends which way you are coming in as well.
if you get lost, then I am sure that someone will be able to point you in the right direction.
I shall be there at about 2, I might be a little late, I think I am getting the bus into town. I will most likely go steal us a corner of the place and I will be sat beavering away on my huge silver laptop. No idea what I will be wearing, probs black jeans and a beige top. Unless I change my mind. I'll be the one with the silver laptop though.

Awesome to see so many people being proactive!
I'll put this on the regional calendar, but unfortunately I'll be at college so I can't make it. To anyone who attends, let me know how it goes?

what sort of time are you finishing at college? Cos it could be that we are still there when you finish. If there is internet in the place I shall keep an eye on the forums and let you know when we leave if you want to join us after college.

The meeting went well. We drank coffee and tea and we talked books and even got some writing and plotting done.
Also, thanks to Stan, Cafe Rappor on York Road has a nice little window sign about NaNo and are happy to have us all. We'll be buying coffee and stuff from them so thats probs why. There is even a double plug socket under the window, though the tables are a little on the small side. Especially when my mammoth laptop takes up half of one.
Not sure when we are planning another meet up, and the place shut at 4.30 today so we cant stay there late. We did, however, discuss some other options where we could meet and stay until the evening. There aren't many, but I am sure we will find something for November.

Could be crowded next time, I've just ordered a new 17" Toshiba 'Satellite' with all the bells, whistles and flutes a folk musician like myself could ever want. I think it also does a bit of word processing as well.
Another good, albeit short day, with everyone now in possesssion of a working plot and storyline. Especially if someone, not too far away can bang out an almost complete book in the time whilst holding conversations with two other people. Inspirational to say the least, considering I managed about two paragraphs with my lo-tech fountain pen. (Just wait until next time, Chelle)
Hopefully, all the people who have shown an interst in meeting at Durham before the end of the month will be attending the meet-up at the Shakespeare Tavern on the 29th. We have arranged to be in-situ between 1pm and 10pm so if you can't make it during the day, you will get the chance to meet everyone during the evening.
To find the spot - head from the Market Place in Durham, up Saddler Street towards the Cathedral and the 'Shakey' is on the right hand side about 20m up from Waterstones. Did I mention it's one of the oldest and most haunted pubs in the city?

hehe, I really do have far too much time on my hands, and I used to write letters for a living, so i am used to having to be fast when it comes to writing. But I do have a bad habit of closing my eyes when I write, just so I can see the picture clearer in my head.
I think I may pop into that cafe again during the day sometime, just to get out of teh house and write a bit, its not bad for sitting and writing for a little while. If I do, I shall post and let you all know in case you want to join me. Nothing formal or anything, just a change in scenery.

I'm Jo, one of the ML's for Darlington. Just thought I'd pop in to offer our support. I'll be at the Durham meeting next week, and we're going to have meetings in Middlesbrough and Redcar if you're interested. It's great when Wrimos organise their own meetings though - it lightens our workload... :-D
