Is there a Facebook tool/widget for Nanowrimo that would post my Nanowrimo status each day on my FB account? I've been following the advice of "tell everyone you know that you're writing a book in November so that you'll be too embarrassed to fail" and I thought that a tool to post my word count to my FB status each day might inspire me to write faster. :)

I found it. Go to Facebook and search for Nanowrimo. There's a Nanowrimo application that posts your word count each day.

What about a blogger widget so friends can see my progress? I've looked at the coding for the widgets under "Fun Stuff" but apparently don't know what needs to happen. Can anyone help?

I've thought about coding a widget for blogging, too, but I'm about 2000 words behind on my novel so I haven't taken the time to code it.

If I ever get ahead I'll do it. Maybe over the weekend. I caught up 4000 words on Sunday. Another weekend like that and I'll pull ahead of the curve.

I just saw that Nanowrimo already has blogger-compatible widgets.

I added one to my blog and it worked perfectly. I just went to my blogger.com layout, added a gadget, selected the HTML/Javascript option, and pasted the widget code in. Works great.

They even have a 3-person "Word War" widget.

Thank you, Tracy. Those widgets weren't working just a couple of days ago. And a 3-person word war?! Talk about adding more pressure on top of reaching 50K!
