Not to be confused with the roving write in - but fairly similar - its a concept I came up with a couple of years ago when I was simply trying to find places with plug-ins to quietly get my word count up and started stuffing my computer into a pink rolly bag that has sort of become my Nanowrimo on the go kit.
Starting to think up some personal lists of places to appear so this is my new topic.

That sounds like a great name (and idea) for a writing group or a blog! You could take pictures of your noveling adventures (or locations if the establishments allowed) and post them. Ooh! and it fits with the Gypsy theme too! LOL. I'm looking forward to seeing where you end up - of course, I hope you could make it to an official write-in or two as well.

I was planning on doing something similar. See how many different places I can find to write... get people around me involved in some way if possible. (Restaurant? Get the chef to share a recipe? Set up a "Writer at Work: Donations Accepted" fundraising station?)... though I'm also looking for "Roving write-in" locations.
I was going to Ohio for a couple days in November, but the friend I was meeting wanted to meet sooner than that so bought the tickets for me and flew me out last month. I had a lot of fun last year going to the Toronto Kick-Off Party and meeting them, so I thought I'd find some way to far-travel and meet other WriMo's this year too.
One thing I'm seriously contemplating this year... some Friday evening catch the free Casino bus from the Valley, and go write at the Cd'A Casino. Of course I'll also spend a few dollars while there, hopefully win a bunch more than I spend (my max would be $10.... and that's pushing it).

Its almost here...and my first act for November will be to crawl out of bed at Midnight, go down to the basement, turn on Gogol Bordello and use that fall back hour for some word count.

My first act of November will be to get up as early as humanely possible, go down to Best Buy and pick up my new netbook that I have on hold!! *happydance*
I have to wait until Sunday to get paid, but I'm so excited to be able to roam around Spokane and write at will.

Oh I want one!!!
But I won't - not yet, I'd be happy if I could find my jump drive - off to Starbucks for some prework wordcount insanity.

Wednesday at 10am I will be at the Lakeside library, probably by myself, with my notebook and my headphones. There will be at least 4 hours before the kids get out of school.

Today's the day!! Friday 13th... always a good day for me. Thus I chose tonight as the night I'm going to the Casino to write. The free casino bus picks up in the valley in the RiteAid parking lot off Pines & Sprague at 5:50pm. I'll relax and write on my way... people watch, make my charitable contribution to the Tribes (well... okay, hopefully they charitably contribute more back to me. But if I lose I figure they'll make good use of it somehow), and write more until it's time to go home (bus leaves at 10pm).
I'm leaving my laptop at home and taking pad and paper... I doubt the bus has electrical outlets :) Plus my laptop is rather heavy. Also for some reason this novel is forming better on paper... I can then expand upon it when typing it all in.
