I'm really big on the fundraising this year. I want our pig to be stuffed when we smash it open at the TGIO. To that end, I'm willing to put my own sanity and the quality of my novel on the line.

I propose the Dollar Dare. Now, we have a dare jar every year and I pull dares from it but rarely do I end up using them. With the Dollar Dare, that will change.

Here's how it will work:

At every write-in I attend I will have Dollar Dare cards. You write a dare on it, paperclip a dollar to it and plop it on my keyboard. I immediately have to incorporate that dare into my novel. I will write a minimum of 200 words before dropping the dollar in our donation jar and returning to my regularly schedules noveling.

Fine Print

* I can use the dare however I like. A dream, a flashback, an Important Announcement from the Narrator, whatever.

* The money will go straight into the donation jar after the completed dare has been verified by the darer.

* I will not accept pornographic dares.

* I reserve the right to delete all trace of dares when I edit the novel.

That's such a neat idea! I'd be afraid of doing that this year, though - I've done far too much planning for dares outta nowhere. I don't think Danica and her friends can stop in the middle of a track meet and start doing the Bat-Dance. ;P

Nice,

I have dollars,

and I have ideas,

but I am incorporeal at the moment.

I am sure there is a work-around... I can donate in the name of you, the group, manatees, or whatever...
I can paypal, check, or money order...

Based on the inconvenience factor, I can even go as high as Two dollars an idea...

Oh, I like this idea! I'll have to try to make a write-in. Last night, DH dared me to use a certain word in my novel. I must admit, it was a fun challenge.

I'm short on words and Wree-Mo's short on change. I'm bringing the hammer to the write-in tomorrow, so if we fill him up we can break him open! And maybe in the meantime I can catch up....

Yes, do eet!

I got 3500 words at today's write-in and I think 3000 of those were from dollar dares.
