Who's coming Thursday night (Oct. 29) to the Kickoff at Woodstocks?

Nine days and three hours to Ready Set TYPE!

I really want to come, and I would have no problem getting there, only, I don't have a light on my bike (and am far too poor to buy one) so I can't safely bike after dark, and unless I only stay for a really short time I can't depend on the bus to get home either. And even though it's only two miles, I really don't feel safe walking home after dark.

So unless there's a volunteer to give me a ride, I most likely will NOT be in attendance. :(

Maybe you all could discuss carpool ideas at the campus meeting Monday night? I'll be arriving from the opposite direction, but I could swing by campus to drop people off after it was over. Don't have room for a bike, tho.

Maeve - I'm definitely going to be there!

Reasonably_crazy - I may be able to fit your bike in my car. Especially if it's just to campus, I'm sure we could put down the back seats of my cart and pop it through the trunk... it'll take maneuvering, but I think we can do it! : )

Getting to and from campus for the OSU isn't a problem- I can bus there and back easily. It's just the kickoff on the 29th I'm worried about.

My bike won't be a factor; I'll walk five miles so long as it's in the daylight, and was planning on walking the mile and a half to Woodstock's, anyway. It will just be dark by the time we're done, and call me a pansy, but as a girl with all the fighting skills of a toadstool and the running speed roughly that of a push lawnmower, I dislike walking home in the dark.

Thanks and welcome. (And btw, you have your account set to not accept private messages, so I couldn't reply anyway.)

Count me in . . . and a friend; I'm bringing her in a last ditch effort to convince her to participate this year :)

Also, I'm a student at OSU and for my Writing for Media class I'm doing my feature story on NaNoWriMo (because what could possibly be more newsworthy?) and I'd love to get some interviews from anyone who's coming who's interested in talking about how they found out about NaNoWriMo, their past experiences with it, helpful tips for completion, etc...

TEN! Woo hoo!

And I can get you information on past NaNos and the contact info for the national office, if you like. (Although you may have already found all that from the website.)

Can I get a a copy of the article when you're done, to send back for their press clippings file?

I'm coming too. Just got back to town from a trip to Eugene in time. And I just got a part-time job, so I will not be penniless and job-searching while writing! See you in an hour.

That WAS fun. Thank you to everyone who came! We're got a group of hugely creative folk this year.

For those who couldn't make it, I hope to meet you/see you again at the write-ins.
