I don't know about you other Monrovites, but Shreveport is a little far for me. I drive a scooter, and with the weather lately, I'd end up horribly sick or stuck in a ditch somewhere. It seems like there's a few of us; how about a write in here in Monroe? BAM, local or ULM library, Leah's on Louisville -they have free wifi, plenty of seating, AND delicious pie! Write-ins are fun, productive, and a great morale booster, and I'd love to have a couple this November, if my co-Monroe dwellers are game. Thoughts?

S'port is a little far for me, too, and Lea's is just down the street from me, and BAM is not much farther, so that sounds pretty durn good. I would love to participate in a write-in since writing at home with 2 kids can be hard. Plus, it would be nice to meet other local writers. I am starting to feel isolated since I don't know any others.

I've never heard of Leah's but I'm in BAM all the time. What ever is decided, I'm up for a write in. My schedule is weird as anything though, working at Lowe's and going to Tech full time.

So once something is decided, I'll have to just say Yea or Nay.

My brother'll probably want to come with me if I can go though, so there'll probably be two of us. Maybe three if I can get my boyfriend to actually nano this time. If it's at BAM, he'll be there whether he writes or not.

A write-in, eh? Sounds like fun! This is my first year of actually having the time to do NaNoWriMo properly, and I'd like to meet others who are doing the same, so I'd totally be up for it.

I'm in Sterlington, but I know where the BAM and the libraries are. What is this Leah's of which you speak? The delicious pie intrigues me.

As far as days go, I'm funemployed, so I can meet up pretty much any time we decide on.

Definitely couldn't hurt to get some pie and support on this thing. This is the first time doing NaNo for me. BAM isn't all that far from the house, I've never heard of Leah's.

A Monroe write-in sounds excellent. I could probably swing the drive from Ruston for that one. :D

I'm in Ruston all the time, actually. I'm always writing in Tolliver hall on campus. Well, after classes, anyway. If you wanted to drop by, I'm going to be there all this week! Well, except for today. Stupid report and job... XD.

As for Monroe, one of the BAM employee's is actually writing so I think meeting there would be a good idea. If I can I'm coming, and bringing Sam.

No way haha. :D I've been writing in my dorm mostly but I might have to stop by Tolliver sometime.

There's a one day sale going on at BAM this Saturday. Even if we aren't doing a write in then - I'm going there, *haha*...*ha...*
Well, whatever is decided, I'm all for it, and if Allison can go, it probably means I can go.

Wednesday works for me. Want to meet up tomorrow some time?

Edit: Ooh, one day sale? I'm there, even if I don't bring my book with me. Which I probably will, if anyone wants to do a write-in on Saturday.

A write-in sounds great! I don't drive but I live right off ULM campus, so the library or BAM is good for me because they are both within walking distance. My best days tend to fall on Thursdays and Fridays, which I know is a little weird for most...but things get shifted around for me pretty often, so once something is set in stone I'll know whether I can show =)

Is there a write-in tonight anywhere? I thought I heard some talk about Wed. (tonight) at BAM - is that still on? If so, what time?

I'm going to be there after class, so around 5-6 depending on whether the circuits work or not XD Sam will be with me. I think. I don't think he has any more games. I'll see if other people here want to go.

Anyone in Ruston need a ride?

We're here. Traffic was plain awful. Seriously, we were about to plow over the person in front of us they were going so ridiculously slow. Anyways, we're the two random people with identical laptops sitting together.

Sorta hard to miss.

Curses; I've been kind of nocturnal lately, I guess I should have checked the site earlier.

So... Saturday? Or same time next Wednesday maybe?
For future instances, I'll be the guy in the burgundy bowler derby.

I caught the stomach bug - still recovering - How was the write-in at BAM? Is anyone thinking about doing one this Saturday?

Hi, all. I'm in Monroe as well. I got a late start this year and I'm far enough behind to panic. I could use a write-in or something for drive. My shedule is pretty crazy, too. I'm out of work, but have a baby to tend to a lot of the time. I'm in the Garden District myself, and can attest to that good pie thing.

I've done NANO for years and years. Didn't always win. Never met a group of writers here in Monroe.

I am open to a Monroe ULM or Leah write in. Just post a date and if I am available I will be there.

Same here, jmhunter, its a real bummer- not to mention im WAAAYY behind on my Nano :( Anyway I'll probably be doing BAM sometime this weekend to try and get caught up before it gets really out of hand. I'm up for ULM too if somebody knows the hours and stuff (I'm not a student till spring, so I'm not sure how the ULM library works ).

I'm pretty sure anyone can use the library, you just have to have a current student ID to check out books or to use the computer lab.

Last year, some LA cities were having online write-ins with competition for motivation. Any chance of that this year?

LOL Mr. Write. Any word about a write-in this weekend? This is my first year, so I'm not sure about contests, but I sure could use some motivation. I am about 8,000 words behind as of today. I am having a VERY hard time moving forward rather than wanting to go back and fix, fix, fix.

I'd have to join from home and post about word count as a virtual write-in this weekend. I don't have a laptop anyway, so I'd have to legal pad it at BAM if I went.

But I WOULD like a write in. Early Sunday maybe? Maybe even more than one?

From the past couple of years, I can tell you that having a set time to sit and write really helps. It forces you to get in the chair and do nothing but crank out words.
