Any Simi Vallians out there? I noticed there was a Ventura post, but I'm wondering if anyone lives a little closer, maybe~ ;D This is my second attempt at NaNoWriMo. I didn't get very far last year...sadly. I'm hoping I can make it this year!

They'll probably head over here when they see the thread, too. There's been talk of a get together sometime where we all can hang or whatever. ^_^

i discovered a great place to have a meeting! My hubby and I frequent a nearby Thai restaurant called Thai Kitchen and when I was there last night picking up our order, I saw that they have free wireless internet there as a hotspot. It is a quaint but great place and could be very promising for a NaNo hangout!

Location: Behind Big Al's Pet Food Warehouse in the same building as Harbor Freight at the corner of 1st Street and LA Ave.

Hey Simi-ans! This is my third year attempting NaNo and hopefully I'll make it past 6k this year...
I grew up in Simi but I'm currently living up north going to college. I'll be home during the week of Thanksgiving, though.

I'm in Simi but I live right on the edge by Moorpark. It's exciting to see other Simi-people on here.

I'm in Simi too. I went ahead and joined the Los Angeles group since i'm right on the east edge of Simi.

Maybe we can arrange some sort of write-in in Simi/Conejo area? Maybe something evenings during the week?

Simi's got a few different Starbucks that might be promising or the Borders. I don't go to coffee shops that often lately so I'm not too familiar with what else might be out there more towards the west end of Simi. That Thai place has good food.

Moorparks got a Starbucks and other options?

T.O.'s certainly got a few places as well including the Borders and B&N. Maybe somewhere at the Mall?

I study pretty frequently at the Border's in Simi and it's a nice spot. Generally pretty quiet, even right after school lets out. That would be a good spot to go to.

Borders is definitely a good meeting place. Very rarely does it get crowded, so that's a plus~
I wish I had some kind of input, but everybody's already named all of my ideas. Ahahaaa... :D;;

Probably too last minute, but does anyone want to do a meetup write-in for tomorrow evening? I have a free evening for a couple hours and thought I'd toss that out there. I get off work at 5:30pm in Westlake and can get home by 6pm in Simi so either TO or Simi works for me.

I could probably do something Tuesday night. Maybe something on the west side of Simi between 6-9pm?

sweet! I'd probably want to do something with food since I'll be ready for dinner around that point. In one of the other Ventura county city threads, I mentioned in Simi we have the various Starbucks, Panera Bread, and the Thai place are good places for food and meet-up. Though, as you said the TO mall might be good too. I haven't been to the food court in a long time since they revamped the whole mall. The Simi one being outside probably wouldn't be that great for writing due to the colder weather. :D I work near the B&N at The Promenade, which has a lot of food too. Sorry for all the choices surrounding food, my schedule messes with my meals so when I usually get home I'm starving for something.

I made a thread specific to the meet-up so all the info is there on where to find Thai Kitchen. :)

sweet! There's a few of us on the west end. We'll have to get another write-in or get-together soon. The one on Tuesday was a lot of fun with truethomas and DeltaFoxtrotZulu!

Hey TO'ers!

It's great to see so many people so active :) We had someone come in the LA region and ask about TO, and Delta pointed them here, which was an encouragement for me to see all this activity. Since TO is part of LA county, you are totally within rights to claim LA (here) as your home region, if you like. I promise we don't bite...too much :)
If you do decide to head over there, I can get your events and such posted quickly if you post it in the "Grand Write-In Thread". I would love to help you all reach more people and meet others in the region, so don't hesitate to be involved.

Keep up the wordcounts, and happy novelling!

EDIT: I apologise horribly for my own confusion! When trying to find out where the counties were lined, I misunderstood some of the information provided. While some of the ZIP code for TO is in LA County, the city itself is in Ventura County, which puts you squarely in ::Elsewhere. :D I'm very sorry for my assumptions, and hope you are having an awesome November! Please do let me know, though, if you need any help with anything, and I'll do what I can.

Hello TrekQueen. Thanks for that post in the Santa Barbara region. I'm in Agoura and looking to connect with others in this area at the Borders in T.O. and the B & N in Westlake and Calabasas and the various coffee places around. A good spot in Simi is the It's a Grind coffee shop off of Madera. I'll there Monday and Wednesday night writing.
