We all have at least one main character. As it is with most NaNos, we all get wonderfully attached to at least one character, most often it's a MC. And surely your other characters have something intriguing about them too, or else they wouldn't be in the novel!

So here's a lovely little thread for all of us to brag about our lovely little characters. ;)

As for me, I think most of my novel will be third person omniscient, so I get to have all kinds of fun floating around and talking about them, I'm just not sure exactly who they are yet. ((plugging another thread time!) If you have a character idea, but they just can't seem to fit with your novel's setting or whatever, refer to the "I can't seem to make the character work in my novel" thread)

I do know for sure that there will be one, and only one, character in my NaNo who knows he's a character in a NaNo. Talk about inner conflict. "You made me say WHAT? Just for WORD COUNT?"

As of now there are only two people in the whole story:

Allen (noname): The central character of this whole business. Intended to be a lovable idiot, he has completely missed the mark and become a slightly annoying fool. The poor guy suffers from near-crippling anxiety, and other potential mental issues. Despite this, (because of this?!) he has somehow managed to become a successful author.
He makes bad decisions and stumbles from one outlandish situation to another.

Mig (noname): Created haphazardly merely to give a name to someone from Allen's past. She was unwilling to settle for a bit part, however, and has since become integral. Even going so far as to demand that her story be told in the midst of Allen's. Her motivations are not fully realized yet, but I suspect they will reveal themselves all too soon.

-Currently, Allen and Mig are hovering on the verge of a relationship. Unfortunate side effects are leading them to both act like complete idiots (there is quite a bit of awkwardness and fumbling). I don't think they fully understand their own emotions, which is bound to have disastrous consequences.
I've tried to nudge them into a nice happy direction, but they are intent on doing things in their own way.
I wish them the best.

Dayen was born a dwarf, but to his chagrin undergoes a minor transformation when he touches a cursed sword. Now he is part fire giant which makes him even stronger than before, but a little less dwarf. A thief by trade, now six feet tall and several hundred pounds, that career is over. Trying to cope, he visits Kaveldeth where he literally steps into a murder mystery.

Baelik, knight of Aelundin. The highest skilled swordsman in the land.
Thrlyona, wizard. She recently learned the secret of her heritage. Now she is the most powerful wizard in the land.
Feralas, ranger. This character was originally named Ellesar until I recently found out that Tolkien had used it. Another character with a curse of sorts. Orc blood heals his wounds much like a vampire. Makes him feared.
Azalia, priestess of Aelundin. This golden haired beauty can bring the wrath of her God raining down on her enemies.

Ghaunstra Zaurden, heirophant druid. The mastermind behind the murder and mayhem in Kaveldeth
Sophia Montague, deranged priestess of Aelundin. She is the wife and leads the murdering of her kinfolks.

I'm writing steampunk. The year is 1870

Henry Toben is second-generation Irish from Boston. His grandfather got run out of Ireland. His da is a fisherman. Henry himself is a certified boilerman on an airship. He needs the sky .like he needs air.

Meriwether Volentine is evil and does it in grandly decadent style. A former farmboy who also took the the skies early, he inherited his pirate airship from the notorious Angelina Calamity. Now, he makes his living plundering wealthy travelers.

Minor characters:
Gideon. A black man who stokes the coal into the firebox of Henry's boilers.

Captain Robinson. Captain of the Star of the Sky, where Henry works. Treats his below deck crew as servants and the black crew as furniture.

Cowboy. One of the pirates who captures Henry. Has a twisted sense of humor.

Ruth was intended to be the main character of a series, but she's gently breaking up with me during the course of the book with Arturo, who was suppose to be solely a plot device. Now, he's stealing my leading lady and getting more page time. I also discovered this weekend that one of my other characters, Rachel, is British. I wish I knew where my novel is going, but the characters have begun running amuck and taking over.
