Hi, everyone!
Phoenixfox and I have decided to combine Saskatoon and Regina in the realm of fund raising. (This means nothing when it comes to word wars, but everything for the Office of Letters and Light [OLL]!)
To that end, I have created a team called SaskNaNo. It's the Young Writers' Project (YWP) fund raising project through Gifttool. If you want to get in on it, head on over to http://www.nanowrimo.org/sponsorship and click on the link for the sponsorship start page.
The idea is that you will collect pledges from people you know, and then send the money to the OLL. The money will be used to help fund all kinds of lovely OLL programs, but especially the YWP. And, of course, the more money we raise, the better NaNoWriMo will be!
Visit the link and check out the details, then register for the SaskNaNo team, collect pledges, and donate! And sometime in December, we will get donor goodies. :)
I set our team a goal of $1000, and I'm hoping to get 14 of you lovely participants to join. We can discuss fund raising techniques here - how do you convince someone to feed your addiction to NaNo?
Of course, Phoenixfox and I will also be collecting donations at meets this year. Those donations will be given on behalf of our two separate regions - Regina and Saskatoon. This is a way for all of Saskatchewan to show our dedication to NaNo. It also is a way for people who are unable to get to meets to contribute.
And, finally, if you have some spare money and are able to donate online (e.g., via PayPal), head on over to the Donations/Store and give some money and buy some merchandise. Every little bit counts!

Can I just donate without doing a drive kind of thing? I live on a reserve that doesn't have a lot of expendable money and what little they donate to usually goes to sports and rec for the kids on the reserve. I'd rather not take that money from them if that's all right.

Of course you can! :)
This is meant to be an option for people who can't afford to donate on their own - students and the like. Just click on "Donations/Store" in the header of the site, and you'll be on your way! :)

Okay, some of you may have noticed the "Donor Derby" linked under "Fun Stuff". Saskatoon and Regina are supposedly both on League 6, but I'm having trouble finding Saskatoon because we're a new region.
Basically, this is a contest between regions to see which region can donate the most to OLL this year. The GiftTool team sponsorships don't count toward this, which is too bad, but everyone who donates through the site raises our standings in the Derby!
So... however you are able to donate, please do!
EDIT: Almost forgot! Saskatoon people!
At every in-person meet, we will have a coin bank there to collect your change! You can buy extra tickets for the door prize draws (at our parties) for $1, and put your spare change into the frog. We'll open it up at the TGIO in December and donate the proceeds to the Office of Letters & Light.
At the kickoff this afternoon, we chose a name for the frog. Everyone who was there at the time wrote down a name on a piece of paper, and we drew one out of the pile to be the frog's name.
Here are the submissions:
Princess Furly-Pops
Jared (or Squishums)
King Boobah
Artimas
Wally
Stephen Harper
Ripit
And the winner was...
Artimas
So, think about feeding Artimas at our meets!
