I was wondering who else might be keen? Its sadly the only day of the week i am garunteed to have free.

I'm not sure of the best places.. was Borders sympathetic last time? Where were the other meets?

I'm happy to go in and sit all day if people feel like coming and going at various times - anything to keep me off facebook when i should be writing!!!

Also - would anyone be keen on a meet on 30th October and a pre-nano meet for coffee (and cake...pleeease cake too)? the 1st November is a Monday which, if I'm not working is fine for me to meet up on, but i won't know until maybe late next week if i am going to be employed or not :)

I'd be up for occaisonal write-ins and meets, other people there will definately stop me slacking.

I personally can't do the 30th and on the 1st I have school so not really good for me.

I'm definitely up for meetings, although I too can't do the 30th.

Borders seemed more or less sympathetic I think.

Morning everyone

Are we all excited or busy trying to get everything prepared? (a definite yes to both from me, especially as I still don't have a clue what to write about - only finished first draft of novel no 2 on Monday so have been someone distracted, but have today off - and next week, yeah! - so knuckling down). So I'm spending today going through my 49-page document of 'ideas'. If nothing comes of that I have got five 40-page display books of agony columns or seventeen 40-page display books of newspaper clippings! (one of which was the idea for novel 2)

I presume we were talking about Sat 31st? I could have done today (30th) but sadly can't do tomorrow. Visit my mum for a day every third weekend so seeing her tomorrow instead of Sunday...I wonder why... :)

Other Saturdays depend on timing as I'm a Red Cross volunteer and work 1-5pm when not at my mum's. Did say I couldn't do November but the Manageress is leaving next Thursday (boo, she's lovely, but too much red tape has driven her, and other Managers/Asst Mgrs away!) so they're going to be short-staffed.

Anyway, that's a rambly way of saying 'I hope to but will have to see'. I can talk for England... hey, maybe I should write a book! :)

My mum asked me the other day what novel 2 is about so I told her (novel 1 was a comedy but no. 2 was much more serious but with occasional lighter bits) and she said "that sounds awful" (she's a Pam Ayres fan - actually she, my mum not Pam Ayres, said worse about my one-and-only competition winning poem (I've written more than one poem but only won one competition - but then I've only entered about four - did I say I could talk for England?), which was about a premature baby's fight for life', so my working title for novel no. 3 (this year's NaNo) is 'A novel that my mother would read'. :)

So I'm going to have to pick something light and fluffy which I don't mind because, although my brain often goes to the 'dark side' (nothing to do with sci-fi but you'll know what I mean) writing so intensely has to be fun.

If something completely the opposite leaps out at me though, and demands to be written, I could always change it to 'A novel that my mother wouldn't read'. :)

Best of luck to everyone (not that we'll need it, we'll just leave it to our characters).

PS...wasn't it a lovely email from Chris Baty (I donated last year and have just had a tax rebate - having been on the wrong code since May! - so will definitely do so again)

Lol, that email. XD I'm glad I now know what day it is appropriate to start panicking.
