Mine is a horror story loosely based on an experience I had when I was little. I was walking in a field and I stepped in a groundhog hole. I fell in up to my thigh. I could not get out on my own and I was terrified until my dad helped my out. I kept imaging what creature was down there and what it was going to do to me. This story is going to be where my imagination carried my in those few terrifying moments.

OK. I'm not serious, but what I've been *telling* people is that I've combined some "current event" news headlines:
1) The Large Hadron Collider has been disabled for almost a year. When it was first turned on, there were some crack-pot theories of it possibly causing miniature black holes. Now, the crack-pot theory is that; the scientists who created the LHC have witnesses its calamity and have time-traveled back through a time-rift CREATED by the LHC to foil it from ever working.
The picture that accompanied this news story had two scientists wearing lab-coats...and wearing sombreros. In the background, was a man walking by and the glare from the camera made his eyes glare like a zombie.
2) The giant mucus sea blobs.
So, my plot goes like this: "Sombrero-wearing, time-traveling scientists use the LHC to come back and prevent the zombie apocalypse by disabling their creation, but they find space and time *so* warped that some zombies have already come back and the apocalypse is in full swing when they arrive.
Thinking that zombies are very off on their motor-coordination skills, the scientists think the safest place to go is the open water of the ocean. So they steal a boat and take to the sea. But they find themselves surrounded by the giant mucilage of the ZOMBIE SEA BLOBS.
So....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I've got many ideas but I haven't settled on one yet. I think that's what I'm going to do tonight, figure out which one I want to go with. That is if I don't fall asleep before then. I've been busy moving the past few days and I'm exhausted to do much of anything at night.
Because of that, I doubt I'll be writing anything until at least Nov 2, which really sucks.

Void Tripper
Zachariah discovers he is a Prime, a human capable of traversing hidden portals to other dimensions. While normal people have counterparts on each world, Primes are unique throughout the multiverse.
Zachariah must secure a sombrero and find his way home to prevent padawanchina's Zombie Apocalypse. (Okay maybe not but you don't have to sit next to her every day and see the giant sombrero on the white board. It beckons...)
Zach must learn to use his new abilities and find out why some Primes want to wipe out all human life

The sombrero, it beckons...

Kevlord, LOL!!! That was funny! And guys, he actually took a picture of my white-board at work where it *does* actually say "It's SOMBRERO Time!!!". And I like that idea. I'll get a sombrero for you to wear too! It'll be easy to find us at the write-ins!
{added by Mia, my 10-year-old daughter: Hi!!! I'm Mia and and I just thought that was really funny and I'm actually doing the NaNoWriMo too (young authors version) and my plot is; My hedgehog, Pamplemousse, and she goes on this wild adventure trying to save the Earth from the evil booger monsters!}

Please bring the sombrero for our write-in fiestas! Love that!
As for titles, I have zilch. As for ideas, I have plenty but I'm taking a new route this year and using NaNo to revise the novel I'm currently working on. Since I've changed POV and plot, it's essentially starting from scratch.

I didn't have much and a friend suggested a premise that I got really excited about:
A young woman, separated from her mother early in her life, becomes a successful actress in the hope of being found by her mother. When this does not happen, she goes looking for her.
As I write this, it feels like what some of the people in the literary fiction forum were talking about...it sounds kind of flat.
We shall see.

Mine is 'Such a Pretty Little Girl', a Supernatural fan fiction with some genderswapping and a combination of the past four seasons.
And today I suddenly wanted to write a novel about assassins... but I think it's a little too late for that lol

I'm thinking mine will be called 'The Lab Partner Dynamic', which is something a friend and I came up with describing how we work together in physics class. However, it will be less of a sci-fi novel and more of a horror or mystery novel. It may end up being set in a haunted house, as in one people set up to scare other people, not a house with ghosts in it. But we'll see. I still may scrap it if I can't get any good writing out of it.
