Hey everyone! I’m incredibly sorry for getting this to you all later in the game. I have been playing more rounds of phone tag than I ever thought I would, but I finally have enough information to post time/dates for most of the month.
Our Kick-Off Party will be at Crispers on November 1st, 2:00 – 4:00 PM, and all the information you need will be posted below. The good folks of Crispers have been hosting meetings for us for the past several years and their food is delicious. They have sandwiches, wraps, salads, and all sorts of neat deserts. In addition, there are plenty of outlets for plugging in laptops, as well as wireless internet.

This is the new Barnes & Noble in the Market Street at Heath Brook shopping center. It is gorgeous, with a huge selection of books, DVDs, CDs, and some other odds and ends. The café has lots of tasty treats, as well as free Wi-Fi. Electrical outlets are a little bit scarce, but that’s nothing a power strip won’t help.

I am sorry, this location and time is WAY too inconvenient for a working class writer who needs to care for his family at night.... and work in the day. To drive that far seems outlandish to someone who could EASILY have called the library to schedule a room, provided that I had called months a head of time. It seems that we may have to split the county in half... I am ALL for NANOWRIMO, so I am going to meet with Literary Knights, at the Denny's on SR 40... ANYONE is welcome to show and stay, if it is convenient for you. More on this later. Respectfully, Jason

Hi, everyone. I’m sorry to hear some of you will not be able to attend these write-ins. I completely understand the stress of work and taking care of your family. Naturally, we can only assume the most convenient locations/times for all of our writers and you can never please everyone. We have had many write-ins at Crispers before, as well as the old location of Barnes and Noble. ..The new location is very close in distance. It is easily a twenty to thirty minute drive for our family personally, but as these places have worked well in the past, it seemed fitting to continue planning to meet there.
You are of course welcome to suggest other areas with dates and times that are convenient for you all. We do know the location of everyone and what is too far or just around the corner. I’m sure we can also add a write-in at the Starbucks on the Square. Otherwise, I’m sure those attending the Literacy Knights will have just as much fun!
There’s no need to stress over this, as we have enough time to shift schedules if absolutely need be. However, I am sure we will have a good turn out one way or the other at the above posted write-ins, as we do every year. :)

Speaking fer meself Even the Square is too far this year. I live in Altoona which is basically a drive to anything LOL. But it is a 40 mile drive to Silver Springs. That's ONE way for those who don't know where Altoona is. Don't blink driving though... you'll miss it LOL.

Hey Elise,
Thanks for posting the link! That's great, one of the things I love about NaNo is how we can have different groups to accommodate everyone. :) Yes, Altoona is quite a ways out there...So I'm glad you will still be able to participate in write-ins, thanks to the diversity of all the meeting places and times. I am excited that our Ocala NaNo group is supported with alternative groups this year! Hopefully that will spread the word further and next year we will have even more members. :)

It is exciting. Literary Knghts are planning some Virtual Write Ins as well. We have some members from other states particaping so it will be a country wide experience LOL. Everyone is welcome to join in. The board is free and open to all writers and readers. :)
