Cheltenham Write ins

Cheltenham write-in is going to be on Friday the 30th and will start at Varsity, which is at the far end of the main sidewalk in Cheltenham, if you're coming from the busses/uni area, and we'll move on as and if we need to. I'll be there from 6pm, jeans, dark red/black hair and I MIGHT wear the neon t-shirt, if I can find where I've packed it. If not, I'll do my best to remember to bring the 'no plot no problem' book. :)

Would it be possible to have any confirmations in attending for this - I've had some emails saying 'I'll come, but I don't want to be the only (other one!) there!', so if you'll definitely make it - or are planning to make it, please let me know :)

Varsity is on our google calendar - if you click through to the 'more details' link, it'll show you exactly where I mean. Basically though, it's just up the hill and round the corner from the Moon Under Water - it looks like an old 'inn style' building, and is where we've met every year since it was refurbished :)

wish I'd seen this before - I'd definitely have been there if I'd known it was on. I'll keep an eye out for any future Cheltenham meets.

It was really fun. Although, there were only three of us :(

oh, now I feel REALLY bad that I didn't make it (my bad, I wasn't really checking the forum last week so missed this thread until today!)

I very much wanted to go, but unfortunately, I'm sorely lacking in childcare. :( If there's another meet during the day and I'm not working, I would definitely try to be there! I would likely have my son in tow, but hopefully that won't be too much trouble. ;)

Here endeth the rambling. Okay, maybe not.

Next Cheltenham meet is Upstairs Starbucks from 9:45 ish am Wednesday - I'm hanging around until 2pm - and then will be online at home. I'll have my laptop with me too so I WILL be writing ;). (easily spotted by the various Nanowrimo stickers on it, including a retro 'Hello, my novel is HURTING ME' in the middle of the back of the screen.
Depending on how this one goes, I'll decide how to run the other meets, because like lots of other people I need to arrange childcare for the evening - while I appreciate everyone has a life (yeah, I know, Life and Nanowrimo in the same sentence in November) it's equally important for us to make sure that no one is sitting there on their own :) Makes me sad to think that you'd be there without knowing each other too - so it's always good to say something just in case, y'know, I get locked into my house, or roped into a school trip, or abducted by aliens, or possibly my muse who is currently hiding in my attic.

Anyone wants to yell 'Aye' to this one, feel free - numbers would be good so I know roughly where to try and sit ;) (other than, clearly, near plugs).
I've also got to go see a freind who owns a shop in the centre of town around lunchtime, so if you're planning on coming then, be aware that if I'm not there, I'll be back!

I can as ever be found because of the loud t-shirt o'doom, dark hair and will be wearing an OMG Pwnies! tshirt because the luminous one blinds people in sunlight.

With a bit more notice I might managed one, sorry, it's just difficult when I have to arrange lifts and stuff.

I'm going to try, once again, to attend. I'm going to be in Cheltenham tomorrow morning so I'm looking to be there. Power would be an important factor for me as my laptop has absolutely terrible battery life, though!

really wanna go to at least one of these before the end of Nano, so I'll try and get there for tomorrow, but not for long cos I've gotta get to Uni not soon after, so i'll probably be doing more drawing than writing :|

Sadly, full time 9-5 (or more like 8am-9pm tues and weds) job means I cant do that one either. However I will be sitting upstairs in Starbucks in cheltenham town centre at around 1pm this sunday 8th writing like a fiend (and about fiends as it happens), so if anyone wants to come up and say hi, join in, give me feedback or whatever happens at meet-ups, then they'd be most welcome indeed! I'll be using an advent netbook and so you can spot me, I'll bring a hat.

For those that can only make it on weekends - we're running a meet on Sunday between 12 and 2. I'm not able to stay later but it's always good to drop in and out :)

I know, I know, that's a terrible date to do anything auspicious - but it's my birthday the day before, and the day before that, I have to probably take my cat for an operation to her eye, so we've agreed to move it to Friday, for your ML would be pulling out her hair if she tried to clone herself. And really, the world can't cope with two of me - I was very bouncy after two coffees and it's a funny thing to see (apparently).
There are plugs and possibly Wi-Fi, if BT gets their act together :D. And coffee and possibly stickers - though they may be here at the end of the month this time. I've got 'retro' ones from the last couple of years and from my own stash (ones that were bought, or the few that were left over).
Anyway - 10am to 2pm Friday the 13th - hope to see you there!

My children and/or partner will be joining us tomorrow (depending on the youngest) - my eldest definately wants to come (he's a ten year old), so if anyone is worried about attending because of having kids along, don't worry about it at all :)

Cybersquig, you planning on coming up on Tuesday night again? (we're one man short so I WILL be writing, but there may also be silly games).
As for Sunday - I don't know - my mother is down this weekend (all the way from Edinburgh!) for belated birthday *stuff*, so it depends on whether she's taking the kids on Saturday or Sunday. I'll see what I can arrange, but I'm not able to promise anything right now.

I also have a dissertation meeting on Wednesday, along with a mental health support checkup with the team that looks after me, so I'll be in and out ;)

I can write on tuesday night, and doing it at yours at least promises sherbert and the opportunity to complain to you when my characters misbehave! man, I've spent the entire weekend trying to write and re-write one scene in order to make the rest of the piece fit together. Idiot emotional teenage protagonists messing up my work! As for sunday, whether or not you can make it I'm happy to go sit in starbucks upstairs and have people join me at their leisure :)

I plan to be there tomorrow - I'm desperatly trying to get myself back on track as mum is not here until Wednesday evening!

I will probably be around on Thursday too as I have to come in for Poetry Cafe so will be lurking about if anyone else wants to meet up?
