Hello, hello!
Saskatoon is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Calgary to a Word War. We have several unique awards that will be given out at the end of November, but I will allow James to do the honours for that, later on in this thread. (That's your cue, James!)
In addition to the regions going up against each other, I am hereby challenging the MLs of Calgary, Huushiita and Xanateria, to individual word wars. We can watch the regional progress in our regional headers; we can watch me kick the other ladies' butts in this post. ;)

Let the taunting begin!
Current Status:

**This thread is posted in both the Saskatoon forum and the Calgary forum. Through the magic of this post, people from one region may easily taunt people from the other region without needing to affiliate with the enemy. How's that for snazzy?**

You do realize that we have Trinity who I do believe is up for the challenge of living up to her legendary status that she set up last year, right?
This will be very fun. :) Sorry Janna but I'm very determined to far exceed the goal this year. I'll be trumping your cute butt. Just... so you know! *hugs*

Even if Becks isn't, all of us together can certainly more than give you guys a run for your money.
After all, I was in the lower half of the top ten last year, and I didn't even hit 70,000!
We can definitely win this one guys!

Hi! I’m James, Saskatchewan’s (self-appointed) International Ambassador. Welcome to the 2009 Incredible International Challenge. Thanks for throwing down the gauntlet, Karalianne.
In keeping with ancient traditions from times long forgotten (2003), participating regions contend for five awards.*
Bonus awards! (introduced in 2008)*
Have a fun, productive November!
Sincerely,
James
The fine print:
* Award winners will be announced in early December. Bonus awards will be awarded unless I don’t feel like it, or procrastinate, or can’t find all the numbers necessary to complete the calculations**.
** The results are not audited. Therefore, I can cheat*** with impunity when calculating them.
*** Don't worry. I won`t cheat****.
**** But I could if I wanted to. Mwa ha ha ha.

Okay, first of all, we have James, who wins every single year.
Secondly, I plan to finish early and then I just might elect to start book 4 in the series. So you all had best watch yourselves!
I am so going to whip you, Huushi!

@karalianne- "What, nobody has any good comebacks?"
When a fly buzzes in your ear you can either ignore it or crush it. We have taken the way of peace and chosen not to swat you...that or we have a horrid city wide case of writers block.
Additionaly, with 90% of your province's population now living within our borders I've heard a lot of talk about people claiming to bleed green. Considering this along with the recent increase in the population of Vulcan, presumably due to an influx of Sasketchewenites (I spell it wrong on purpose just for fun) leads to the obvious conclusion that we are being invaded by cold blooded, logic spewing, neck pinching aliens that have resided in your province for a time only to realize they have made a huge mistake....that or you all have a rather sever cases of gangrene. Either way this does not bode well for your abilities to write. On one hand you'll spend too much time thinking and getting distracted by argueing over who the best starship captain was and on the otherhand...well it's hard to type when your arms have been amputated.

lol Janna I was allowing for other people to come up with comebacks... I'm sort of dissapointed too. *winks*
I'm noticing that you haven't finished your outlining. I have yet to do that, too. BUT I plan on finishing tonight. I HAVE too. I want to bloody knit tomorrow. Also. Well. I'm just looking forward to writing more than you.
*pauses* Ya, that was very lame. I'll try and do better next time. :)

It isn't hard to be big winners when only three people in Saskatoon can write. Two of those three people can maybe spell and the third one writes using " X's." People also take pity on Saskatoon because we know that besides the chickens and pigs, you have no one else to talk to and even the critters are ignoring you. They let you win out of pity. Do not expect that from Calgary. We don't care who is illiterate on your team or if you get your dog Fido to write it, as I am sure that is who really does write it.
James, we have, Becky, she can type faster than all of us put together and everyone on your team. That includes, Fido, Bessy the cow, and, Arnold the pig.
We are picking up the guantlet and we shall run over you, James, dear with the, John Deere.

We can all write! Maybe a few have spelling troubles, but so far I haven't seen quite so atrocious an abuse of commas anywhere on the Saskatoon forum.
That is, until now. Thank goodness it wasn't a Saskatoon WriMo who committed the sin. ;)

So, I timed myself today.
I write about 85-105 words a minute.
:D
And yes i realize its a big gap, but the first time i got 85, the rest were over 95.

Just making sure that you poor folks can read everything. Therefore regardless of commas or not, at least we haven't gone to the dark side like someone we know.

*Looks up from doing her baking* "Hey Shiyardia? Is that a lot of hot wind from Saskatoon or is it the oven?"
I've done 5000 words in a day once, and I'm sure I can doing it more than once this year! This year, I'm actually prepared a bit better.
I even brought in another family member this time.

At least we can repel mosquitoes.
Manure kind of permeates your clothes after a while. So you'd rather smell like crap? Sweet!
We will win this competition!

Manure is good for the earth and environment. You really can't get any better fertilizer. I prefer the nice clean smell of manure as opposed to West Nile Virus. Remember we have Becks. There is no way you can win.

Mosquitos buzz, are are generally the most annoying bug on the planet.
I would rather be surrounded in interactive animals, then things that can only annoy you.
Its a true fact of life ;)

Luckily, by the time November rolls around, it's long past mosquito season.
Besides, we have GUINEA PIGS!
And ROY THE WONDER KITTY!
