Part One
I live in Rancho Cordova. I don't think we've ever managed to get a meet-up running. Because ... it's Rancho. But is anybody interested in that?

Part Two
I also live at American River College. Weird, I know. And my (PLATONIC) partner in crime Kindra and I have toyed around with the idea of an on-campus write-in. Does anybody go to ARC aside from us?

YAY RANCHO!

I don't have any idea of where a write-up could take place (my apartment is way small) but I'd love the idea. Maybe somewhere like Rubio's or I Love Teriyaki? Cause I'm not sure we have any coffeehouse.

I semi-live in Rancho, so this works!

What about Lollicup, for a location? In the Zinfandel shopping center. They've got comfortable chairs/couches and good smoothie type things. I don't think they have wireless, but that might have changed. I haven't been there in a while. They might be loud though - they usually have music or a movie playing.

La Bou might be good too. Free Wi-Fi, and usually pretty good seating.

And I think there's a Starbucks around there too. I'm not positive.

Well, I go to ARC part-time, but I'm only on campus one day a week. (I'm at Ethan Way a second day.)

Let me know how this works out. (Also, I need to update the planning thread...)

Oooooo, I forgot. The new Target off of Zinfandel has a Starbucks. Maybe I should go see if there are any ports. It'd be nice to grab snacks from Target, sit down and type ... ha.

The new target has a very small starbucks area. I don't recommend it.

There is a stabucks on Bradshow at Old Placerville Road, next to the Food Source. It's bigger and not as crowded.

I live in Rancho, but not sure if I'll be going to any write-ins because I'll be doing all my writing early in the morning. Hopefully! lol.

I like the idea of Lollicup. What would people think of Monday or Wednesday at four until whenever? And keep in mind this is a day and time I'm completely pulling out of what's convenient for me without checking the calendar :P

As for at ARC ... I'd have to check the schedule of the cafeteria stage, but maybe we could do something late Tuesday afternoon or early Thursday afternoon there?

I could do Mondays at four. If Wednesday is better for everyone else, I could do that also, it'd just be a bit more difficult.

Lollicup has lumpia? No joke? What other kind of food do they have?

The mere fact that they have lumpia is making me want to go. :D

Is it the kind of shady looking one right near Burger King?

If we're meeting tomorrow, then I can be there after four.

And yes, I think it is behind the Burger King. Never been there.

I'm going to check out Lollicup today during my lunch break

If Lollicup doesn't provide a good writing environment, then Mon-Fri from around 11am-12:30m I should be at La Bou on Olsen
According to a wi-fi website, La Bou has free wi-fi.

Maybe I'll run into someone there.

Cheers,
Erik

P.S. If anyone else is doing a lunch "hour" in Rancho somewhere let me know. The more the merrier.

P.S.S. Darn subject is over 64characters. Having the darndest time posting this reply

I won't be able to make Lollicup today. I have to go up to the school and take down the haunted house we had Friday (:

But I will try to make LaBou and Lollicup on Wednesday (:

If no one will be there today, I'm heading home after work.

If someone decides to be there after four at Lollicup then let me know.

I'm currently sitting at Lollicup waiting for my lumpia order. :-)

- Java City coffee that in some case is about $1 less than Starbucks
- More upbeat/contemporary music than the arts-fartsy stuff found in every Starbucks
- Blender for smoothies is SUPER LOUD
- only one outlet...so if you all are going to come here for any length of time, bring an extension cord
- unsecured wi-fi...thus this post while sitting here
- oh, my the slushies are so good!
- About 30min into it, the music was turned off and Transformers 2 was put on the big screen. This was distracting, but thank goodness I had my headphones to help drowned it out.

Ah, I'm sorry. I was going to come today, but my ride didn't work out as planned and thus I had no way to get there. But yeah, I thought Lollicup might be a little bit loud. (But the smoothies are really good!)

La Bou might be quieter, and they have Wi-Fi.

Yaaaay, a Rancho NaNo group! :P This is AWESOME. I have work at 2 today, so I need to leave by 1:15, but It's almost 11 and I'm headed out to LaBou on Olsen right soon.

I'll be wearing a purple hijab, and I'm bringing two multi-plug outlets (because I forgot what they're actually called). I hope to see somebody there!

Hey! What happened to my post? So there IS a write-in in Rancho today (Wed)? I got confuddled by the back-and-forth and the fact that all the backlogged emails started pouring in ...

Today's Tuesday, but yes, I'm heading out to the LaBou on Olsen in just a few minutes. So, potentially a two-person write-in. ^_^

You won't be alone! Erik, his friend Anthony, and I are already here. We're around the side in the big back room.

Well, I think this morning was a rousing success. I think I'll make LaBou on Olsen my daily NaNo spot; if anyone wants to join me any time, I'll be there, probably around 10am, as often as possible. :)

I like La Bou! I think I've been here before.
If anyone else comes today, I am currently sitting on the side area, in the corner. My laptop has a NaNo sticker (novel writing machine, geddit?), so I shouldn't be too hard to find.
I'm being distracted by internet. Hmm.
*should write*

Whatever is going on today, I'm not going to be able to make it. My friend was just taken off campus and admitted to Mercy San Juan with heart-attack like symptoms. There's a chance it's just anxiety-enduced hypertension or a number of things really, but I'm going to go see him in an hour or two with a couple friends so.

Good luck making word counts! I'm already behind lol B-D

Best wishes for your friend; I hope everything turns out fine. Spending time with ill loved ones trumps NaNo. Give them gentle hugs from me.

I'll be at LaBou again tomorrow, btw. I'm aiming for 10am.
