So this is my first post around Macon way since this time 2007. We've had one unofficial meeting at which I did not know the majority of the people present, so I figured that perhaps introductions were in order. That, and I've had the kind of day that is highly conducive to late night procrastinating, having accomplished entirely too much, seriously endangering the slacker cred I have avoided working so hard to establish.

Plus, if I don't slow down, my coffee is going to get cold. And we simply cannot have that.

My name is Richard, clumsy smasher of words since 1985, writer since 1996, author since 2003, NaNite since 2004, and Mooseling since 2005, with bits and bobs of nomadic life interrupting here and there. There are distinctions to each tier that I will happily explain to anyone who will slow down long enough to listen, and you should consider that your fair warning for when you actually encounter me at the kick-off party. Enter the gravitational well of my dialogue at your own risk, for while quiet at first, it's often getting me to shut up that's the trick.

Be that as it may, I know we have a lot of new folks going around this time. We have a couple of very lovely MLs to take care of things and lots of veteran leadership floating about, but just the same, I offer my services to anyone wanting advice, a sounding board, a question answered in an overly verbose way (you find a niche market and you fill it), or someone to babble incoherently at come week four who will pretend for all the world to understand precisely what you're saying. That last service being handier than you might think.

Welcome Mooselings new and seasoned, to this, the abandonment of all reason.
