Was just wandering...
I work through the week and have weekends free, are there people interested in doing write-ins on the weekends?
Cheers,
Matt

I usually do all (or most of) my writing on my home computer, although if the right opportunity comes along, I wouldn't mind seeing how well a write in would work for me. I've got a wedding to attend to in Busselton second weekend into November, so I'll probably pull out the laptop and maybe write a bit on the trips there and back, and hopefully in the pockets of free time I should have here and there before and afterward. Other than that, my November is fairly open-ended. I usually work Saturdays, although I'll probably pick up a few shifts once Uni finishes, in which case I may find myself on Sundays too. I guess I'll try to make it to a write in or two if timing's right, if not, then I won't. Making no promises, but expressing some interest.

Where are you thinking of, Matt? Depending on the where and when, I would be keen :)

That would be a great idea! We should commit to a day of it, write for a few hours, bring snacks, keep the motivation going. That's what a write in is, right? I'm a newbie at this. But so excited! I'm located Rockingham/Mandurah area, but am willing to go somewhere in between. Maybe Perth city? Easy to get to by train. Bring the laptop and just write! Wow.. I can't believe I'm doing this! Ah!
Let me know what u guys decide. Um. November is filling up with committments all over the place, would be good to get a day set soon.
Lemme know!
ps. does anyone have msn or hte like? having someone there while writing is also a good support. Although terribly distracting.

Hi there. I'm down Armadale way. Weekends could be an occasional option for me if the meeting place is not too far from me.

With two small children there is no way i'd be able to get to Perth city for longer than about 10 minutes on a weekend! But anything in Mandurah (on any day) I'll be up for! I might even manage to get some baby free time! She's a good baby, but a little full on for writing time in cafes.
Suggestions for Mandurah Places
Dome cafe at Doddies Beach, Halls Head
Merchant Tea and Coffee on the Mandurah eastern foreshore
Moka in the Mandurah Marina
Miami Bakehouse (two locations, falcon Grove shopping complex or the mandurah boardwalk near the cinema)
All of these except Doddies Beach and REALLY easy to get to by train and bus. I'm fairly sure there is a bus to Doddies beach, but I have never caught it.
Who rings up to ask the cafe? I'll volunteer if its not anyone elses responsibility.

If there's less than say, six of us, do you think we really need to get permission from a cafe owner? (So long as we all buy at least one beverage, I don't think they'd be too upset.) There's a coffee shop in Hay Street in the city which has laptop-friendly tabletops and cushy seats, I'll have to go check the name and report back. I'll ask them if they're cool with a bunch of loitering authors.

Hey, I'm from Mandurah too, and it'd be really cool to meet down here, rather than going up to Perth just to write. I am kinda scared though, seeing as I'm only fifteen, and this is my first time writing. :) :) Cuz of school I can only really ever do it on the weekends. I do go up to Perth often on the weekends though, so it wouldn't be too bad to go up there to meet and write.
----------RAWR! First timer, never written anything over a few pages.. hehehe.. fun!

I might be interested in attending a write in further down south. I'm from Kwinana, and there's no way I'd get up to be in Perth for 9am *___* I hate mornings.
Sooo if someone was going to do something down this way I might be interested. But I'm shy of new people so no promises >_>

Anyone interested in a meet-up/write-in midway more around Leeming/Willeton area? Mandurah way is a bit far for me, and 9am meets in Perth is too early! Freo would be cool!

Ok Freo it is!! Now, i've never been to a write-in before so what does that usually entail?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions on a nice cafe to go to for this?

Hi all! I've been at a convention for the last three days so zero writing for those. Going to get through a bunch this weekend! Which leads me to...
This Sunday there is a Buddhist Spring Festival on the Esplanade in Fremantle starting at 10:30am. Buddhist Festivals always rock out (trust me) so I was planning to go, and then later meet up in San Churros (a cafe designed to give you chocolate overload++) with some new friends from the convention I attended.
So, as I'm going to be in Freo from the morning until pretty much evening anyway, I'm planning to spend at least part of my time writing. Maybe in San Churros, maybe under a tree at the Esplanade - sure, if we go outside our laptops will die after 2-4 hours, but that's a good block of writing regardless!
If anyone is interested, then give me a hoy, maybe we can work something out?
Sending juicy writing lazer beams out towards you all... <3
