The only problem with an after-midnight write-in will be finding a location that's open. Otherwise, it would have to be at someone's house. I've got family coming into town that weekend, so I'll probably be doing my 12:01AM writing from home. :(

Unlikely that I'll be able to attend, BUT there is always dennys/ihop-esque places that are open 24 hours as a location. Maybe not free wifi, but that only means you won't have extra distractions ;) I'm also fairly certain I've blogged at an IHOP before... so should be available.

Yeah I think most IHOPs have free wi-fi. I forgot about that. Haha I wonder what my husband and his mom would think if I left the house to go to an IHOP at midnight...

We did Katz's last year, and had a blast. I'd be willing to go down again.

I am definitely up for doing a midnight write-in for the 31st! There's a Starbucks across the street from the Galleria Mall that's open 24/7, but they're always packed. Maybe since a lot of people will be at parties that night, though, we can meet there and see if we can round up a few tables/chairs?

I know that the iHop at Beechnut and 610 had free wifi but I'm not sure about others.

Now, I'm definitely not opposed to a Halloween write-in, however, I do have a show that night over at Theatre Southwest. The show itself doesn't run late, but I'm not really sure about the "after". We may or may not be having a cast party, but don't count me out completely. =)

I might be up for that, provided I'm done babysitting in time. Katz's would be a good place.

Katz's is a great place for a Halloween write-in - I was there last year - but I have a suggestion. Get an idea for how many people will be there, then we need to call and make a reservation. I'd be willing to take the reins, except I won't be there until right at midnight on Saturday, and I'm busy this week up till then. If no one else wants to, I can, though.

So please, if your vote is for Katz's at midnight, post here so we can count you!

Stuck to top of page so that people will pay attention.

I vote for Katz as we have met there in the past and they know us. :)

I would love to be there, but my Mom's funeral is that day, so I'll be in Lexington, Massachusetts. I'll have the next morning at Boston Logan and several hours on the plane back to Houston to write, though. I'll attend some of the weekly meetups starting next week.

Have a good time without me.

Katz's is only a couple blocks away from me so I'm cool with trotting over there at midnight. I think, though, that it's a very good idea to call and make reservations in advance. A very good idea. They were cool about it last year, but if notified in advance, I'll bet they could hook us up with better access to outlets.

OO! I may be able to go! It all depends on the finalization of halloween festivities - but as it looks right now, I won't have too terribly much going on. Could work out perfectly. Count me in as a "maybe" :)

I'll be at Katz's on Halloween. I've started my last two Nano's there, and always got good writing done.

I will attend whatever write-in is offered on Halloween unless the weather is really bad. I hate driving in the rain on normal roads, but I really hate driving in the rain on Westheimer.

I'll go to Katz's if that's what gets decided, but if we're voting, I vote for IHOP (the one near 610 and Kirby). The tables are larger, the lighting is better, they have much better parking, and they have free wi-fi.

I'll plan on being there at midnight, although that may change my job doesn't end until later.

By my count, we have 9 people interested in Katz's for Saturday night. I'll go ahead and take responsibility for calling in and making the reservation. However, I will probably not be there first, so I'll post again after I call and let y'all know what name the reservation is under.

So apparently Katz's doesn't take reservations. The guy said it would be best just to call like an hour before we want to get there. I'm going to say 11:30 for official meet-time, 'cause that's about when I'll make it over there. I'll give them a call before that, so hopefully everything's all set up. Just ask for the party of 15, and I'll give them my name - Rachel.

I'm interested! I didn't get to go to the 10/24 meet up because of work. I have a party tonight but will try to stop by Katz's afterwards with my laptop or at least a notebook. My husband may join me. We may be in costume.

Two of us are already here. Now's a good time to come, as there is plenty of parking. See everyone soon!

Anyone who could help me with the first scene of my novel would be particularly welcome.

I know it's a bit late, but hopefully someone will see this. I just called and told them we're going to have around 10 people. There's nothing guaranteed, but hopefully we'll get lucky. I asked for tables near the wall, upstairs, with plugs, at around 11:15-11:30, which is when I'll be getting there. Ask for the party for Rachel, or NaNoWriMo - had to spell it for the lady. XD

See y'all there!
