If you've read your email then you know the challenge and the prize.
If you want to be a part of the throw down you MUST sign up by November 7, 2009 12 a.m. no exceptions.
Polite smack downs and trash talking is encouraged, nothing too vulgar please as there are youngsters about.

Part 1:
The first person to reach 75,000 words and send me or our illustrious ML a screen shot of their accomplishment will be awarded a one gig memory stick. It also has to be verified by the nano word counter.
Hold on to your words, there's more...

Part 2:
The person with the highest word count on November 30th wins an 8 gig memory stick. I will be accepting screen shots with a time date stamp until 6 a.m. December 1st. Just hover your mouse over the time on the task bar when you take your screen shot and then send it to me or Liz. It also has to be verified by the nano word counter.

Other Stuff like rules and such:
No lurking allowed. You can boast, brag or whine, and as I said earlier polite smack downs and trash talking will be encouraged. You MUST post your progress at least twice a week. It kind of gives the rest of us an idea as to what we are up against and keeps us motivated. I'm bringing the prizes to the kick off on Saturday if you'd like to peruse the sweet give aways.

Also, I intend on signing up and keeping said prizes to myself... evil laughter ensues

Mmwwahahahaha!!!

I have some awful, terrible news...
Alas I could not find nor purchase a 1 gig stick, however, I did find a 2 gig stick.
So, the prize for the first one to reach 75,000 words and have it verified will get a 2 gig stick instead of a 1 gig stick.
I hope this horrible, awful news doesn't disuade any one from removing themselves from the running.

As of 10/30/09 we have ten (10) participants...

So I have a clarification question -- when you say we have to update twice a week, do you mean we have to post our progress on the site? Or do you want two posts to this thread per week?

It should be twice to this thread, that way we'll all now where to look when we're trying to gauge how much more we have to write to catch up with the leader...

I feel like a slacker, I only have 7,800 words so far and you're the second person I've seen over 10K.

I only have 3,600 words. I should've kept my 10th graders from turning in their research papers until December. Stupid grading.

I'm at 7,588 words now, and even though I'm at my daily goal I may still write more later tonight. The pace of my novel is picking up tremediously now.

Wahoo! #6. I still have a chance!
I would be doing better if I could only convince my boss I don't really need to be working on "job related tasks" and that writing a novel is more important. Hmmmph.
