I haven't decided on my 'Home' Region as yet, but it will be the midwest somewhere USA. I'm sending this to all of my faved regions. Recipes are welcome, the fuel has to be close to home, so I know people will get creative! :)

Who needs to bake when dark chocolate is the new health food?

Oral tradition is like Chinese whispers, so what you end up with probably bears little resemblence to the original tale.

Well, yesterday was beer bread, to go with the baked chicken, today was a new recipe for applesauce cookies (we've almost eaten all of those already..)
I'll probably make a number of other recipes over the month, it's getting cooler and I just can't help myself.

I am a compulsive chef -- partly because it's cheaper and healthier, and partly because I love making food. And it's hard to find vegetarian options ANYWHERE.

The other day it was zucchini/alfredo sauce on carmelized onions and rigatoni. This week it's looking to be Peruvian cuisine turned vegan and Thai red curry, cinnamon rolls and whole-grain biscuits . . . maybe this baked butternut squash recipe with pecans. Yum. Tomorrow night is our monthly Swedish Pancake Night at my place, with breakfast foods in happy abundance.
Yeah, if there were more people in Orange City I would host a party.

I found three kinds of Pocky in the QC area; almond/chocolate, Chocolate, Strawberry. I'm going to keep looking for more and travel to Yorkville next weekend. :)

PUMPKIN SEEDS! The spicy kind -- almost like chex mix seasoning on them. Delicious!

That and brownies. Being allergic to chocolate never stops me from making and eating it. The fact that it turns my skin red and causes itching only means that I'll have an easier time staying awake to write the novel :-P

It doesn't entail cooking or baking, but I have an Oreo ritual.

I spear a fork through the cream of the Oreo so the chocolate cookie parts are sandwiching the fork prongs. I then put it into the glass of milk so that the fork holds the Oreo at the bottom.

I then see how many words I can type before the Oreo gets soggy enough to eat.

Then I just eat it off the end of the fork.

Repeat.

Love Oreos and haven't eaten them in years, so funny!

I just fixed a ton of shrimp in a Cajun Boil to have this weekend, and fix in different recipes. I don't think that would go well with Oreos, but who knows. :)
