I know that the Quad Cities aren't that far away. But when you have to drive 30-45 minutes to a write in, it doesn't work quite so well. Was curious if there was anyone else out in my neck of the woods.

Not in your area, but also far enough from any possible write-ins that I sympathize---in one way. On the other hand, I wonder how much actual writing gets done at write-ins? I'm remember all those 60s sit-ins---all we did was sit & talk and not much got done, although the benefit of the write-in is that the National Guard doesn't show up with weapons drawn & at the ready.
----------Oral tradition is like Chinese whispers, so what you end up with probably bears little resemblence to the original tale.

Lonely, isn't it? I grew up in Clinton, am now in Muscatine -- and am in the same position. I don't want to spend two hours driving to and from a location when I could be writing! I am one of the few MSCA grads. If you know what that is, you must be at least my age!
