This is just a quick list I made and none of them conflict with the Official Write-ins. Tell me out of the choices where you would like it and if the time and dates are okay. I'd like to be there if there's actual interest. It'd be great if write-ins (at least unofficial ones) could be scheduled during the week and not just weekends, too. I work retail, so I'm almost always working weekends. I'm not sure how, but someone above smiled down on me so I'm not scheduled Friday and will know by 2pm Saturday, but most weekends I'm full.

I might make it to some weekday write-ins in Collierville, depending on the time. Weekends are the most convenient for the MLs which is why we schedule them when we do. I've tried in the past to do weekday write-ins, but it just ends up being too much for me (showing up to a dozen events a month won't kill me, but being required to be at them just wears me out.)
I'm thinking of hitting up Borders on Poplar on Thursdays for an hour or two- around 6:00 pm after I babysit. Would anyone be up for meeting me there? I'd leave my ML hat at home and make it unofficial. :)

Out near Collierville works for me (even though my keyboard is being stubborn on the same issue) and actually, I'm off after 11 tomorrow (suuuper short notice, I know) but I'll be at the Barnes and Noble cafe in the outdoor mall thingy (Carriage Crossing? is that what it's called?) after about 2 or so unless something comes up. Same thing on Wednesday when I'm off all day. Not sure how long it'll last but I want to break 10k by Thursday so, I'll be hopefully get a lot done.

I knew I should have checked the board before going. I was at the mall, so I went by Barnes and Noble. I had my notebook with me and all, which I generally do that anyway. I kind of looked around for a minute and didn't notice anything that looked write-in-ish so I just got tea at the Starbucks and wrote like six hundred words. then just as I was leaving I noticed a couple of chicks in the very corner you mentioned on laptops and all and I wondered, but I was afraid of being mistaken and embarrassing myself so I went on. woops.

And my laptop doesn't hate me right now, my other PC does though - I was trying to run NaNo's webbie on it and it never even got to open firefox, just kept blue screening right after start up. X.x
So I'm NaNo-ing exclusively on the laptop, and I have this awesome program I'm using now.

The program is called "Liquid Story Binder XE" - and I will say it took me about 20 minutes with trial and error to figure out how to do a couple of things, but I will point out that the program is totally customizable - and it has color schemes that make it a bit easier to stare at the screen for longer periods of time. XD
It has only one downfall, it DOES NOT have spell check. But it does have a nifty feature that will allow you to put all of your chapters into one file, and then you could C&P it over into Word or something equivalent to run that spell check. It doesn't bother me though - not seeing those little red lines, and those little green lines when word thinks i've done something work is making my word count go higher and higher. I'll just have fun chapter by chapter after NaNo.

Like Hack, I too went to B&N and trolled around the cafe area on Saturday. I saw a lot of visitin' and studyin' but nothing that resembled writin'. Perhaps the NaNoWriMo crew can have a sign on the table, like a folded sheet of paper propped up that says "WriMos here" or something. I'm super-friendly and non-shy once I meet you, but I have a hard time walking up to random strangers and going 'hey, are you ___?' I would find it easier if I at least knew it was the right strangers. - Elizabeth
