Inspired by the Night of Writing Dangerously, we're able to do something similar here in Sudbury this year. Sylvie has been able to procure us a room at Laurentian University from 12:00pm on Saturday November 21st until 12:00pm on Sunday November 22nd. Everyone is invited to come on out and write all night long!
Everyone is responsible for their own beverages and snacks. Kitchen facilities are available to us, so you can actually cook a middle of the night meal if you wanted.
Of those planning to attend, did we want to pitch in and maybe get some pizza for supper on the 21st?
Let me know if you can make it! This should be awesome.
Edit: The event is in Room L-239. In the student centre, close to the book store.

I am 75% certain I will attend.
My daughter's birthday is that day so I probably won't make it out until early evening. Let me know what time you are planning Pizza and I will try to make it for that.
Keep in mind I have never set foot on campus and will likely get horribly lost. You might need to leave a trail of bread (or pizza) crumbs.
Sylvie - what's the parking situation on campus? Are we going to have a problem parking overnight on campus?

I am about 80% in provided nothing comes up in between. I have already pushed my New Moon Weekend back with my sister. Unfortunately I have moved it to the last weekend in November. So I really need to make my goal the weekend of the write in so it is easy sailing after that.
Also, count me in for the pizza.
How is the internet and are there any couches or surfaces available for those who might end up falling asleep doing this. I would like to avoid drool on my MacBook.
Thanks

Here is all the info:
Internet: There is wi-fi available.
Sleeping arrangements: There are couches in an area very close to the room for anyone who wants to take a nap or whatever. They're very comfy, I've slept on one before (don't ask lol).
Kitchen: There is a kitchen attached to the room we'll be using. There's a stove, fridge, microwave... There aren't really any utensils and dishes though, so anyone who wants to cook something should bring their own dishes/cookware. Also, there isn't a coffee machine, but if someone wants to bring one, that would probably be a good idea.
Also, I'm in for the pizza. If someone has more questions, feel free :).

I will see what I can do about being there for part of the time, at least. Definitely Saturday night and hopefully I'll come back Sunday morning. I'd love to do this, but it's a little early for me to plan to be there the whole night.

No idea yet if this is a possibility, but I'm definitely curious. I may be able to stop in for an hour or two; it'd be a pretty great new perspective on the campus, decidedly more interesting than some classes.... :o)
Just one question: which room, exactly, has been chosen as the noveling lair?

Great to see there's so much interest in this event! May have to come up with some challenges to get juices flowing, and more entries into the Treasure Chest!
M.G. Knife: It's good to see you. Care to introduce yourself in the intro thread? We'd love to know who you are.

Hello. My name is Kris and my friend Mariah and I would like to attend this write in. I was wondering if there are fees, registration or if we have to be there at a specific time. Also, I am sixteen and she is seventeen and if there is an age restriction we should probably know. Thanks! It sounds like fun, we'll come for sure! Also, is it alright that we're no actually from Sudbury but from the Island?
P.S- I am a vegetarian, so I will probably just buy a slice of pizza or go get the BK veggie burger (it tastes like nothing, but its sustenance) but if there are any other veggie's coming, maybe we can order a vegetarian pizza to share?

Hey need help with the cooking? I live in a big family, so I know less expensive ways to mass feed people. XD squee.
Or I could just help.. I kind of like cooking and cleaning. I've been told I'd make a good wife, apperantly.. XD or a maid. Pft. XD

Hello Kris and Mariah!
Being that it is a room at the university that we'll be occupying, there is no age restriction as such. I do ask that you both run it by your parents to make sure it's alright by them though, as you are under the age of majority. There will be no alcohol allowed at the write-in, so there shouldn't be any trouble that way. There is nothing wrong with being from the island. In fact, we welcome you! The more the merrier. It's starting to look like we'll be a fair sized group.
We'll probably end up ordering enough pizza that one could be vegetarian without any problem. There are no entry fees or anything, we just ask that you bring some money to throw in for pizza. You are also asked to bring your own beverages and any other snacks.
I'll be showing up around 12:00pm on the Saturday, and we'll be trying to run ourselves right through until sometime Sunday Morning. There isn't a specific time everyone needs to be there. Are you planning on spending the whole night with us?

Hello!
We were planning on spending a good chunk of the night, yes. We'll probably be heading out in the morning. And our parents agree that it is fine.

Not a vegetarian but will eat vegie pizza.
Maybe y'all have thought it, and I can definately see the glimmers of an idea in this thread already, but what about a kind of potluck. I mean still have pizza, cause nothing really beats pizza. But if everyone wanted to bring a snack that is shareable that would be great too.

Oddly enough, I've never pulled an all nighter before and I'm nearly done my party years (I'm 22) If I can I'll do my best to get there and not ruin what I write with drool.
If we are thinking of pot luck I can bring some cup cakes. I may be good in the kitchen flavour wise but my food tends to not look it so something simple like that would be right up my ally

potluck ~ that sounds nice almost. XD kind of like a all nighter snack food exchange. If the kitchen is available for use.. all I'd have to do is cook the stuff. xD *desktop chained* rofl. It could be the least I could do, after all, I'd be drawing, scribbling, or sleeping.. XD I really need to convince my mum to get me a laptop. XD but yeah, I could talk with my mum on what to make and stuff.. might even get her to make some stuff before hand.. XD
