In this corner, with 168 WriMos and the fierce determination to finish 50,000 words... it's Milwaukee/Waukesha!
And in that corner, with 161 WriMos and the need to succeed as a winning region... it's Wisconsin Elsewhere!
That's right, folks! A battle of words... a (friendly) warring of regions... it's region #91 vs region #92 in a 30 day fight to see who can write the most words!
As Peyton would say, it's on like Donkey Kong!
If you check out the Regional Info tab on the forums, you'll see that right now it simply says us vs them. Come November 1st, as word counts are updated and eventually verified, you'll have a ringside seat (actually, you'll be in the ring...) to bear witness to a match between the Southeasterners and Everyone Else in Wisconsin!*
What do you think, team? Think we can win? I sure think so!
Thanks to Epros, the ML for Wisconsin Elsewhere, for agreeing to this challenge!
It's on!...well, almost...
*Everyone Else in Wisconsin does not include Madison, who have their own group and their own stuff and perhaps we'll see about making this a three-way cage match or something...

Ohhhh noooo, I'm betraying
one ofmy home regions! :P I feel so terrible, really and truly.Good luck, everyone, regardless of where you reside.
Also, Zhie, don't forget Eau Claire. They got their own region last year when the other Elsewhere ML left me. *sniffle*

You just had to post this didn't you? You had to make it a real 'war'. You're evil you know that? My original plan was just only no more no less then 50,000 and now that this is going on what else can I do? Yeah I guess I'm gonna have to go for two NANOs again this year *watches as the muses start yelling out ideas* Well... it's not like I didn't kind of want to in the first place but now I'm totally stuck. I had two NANOs planed out for this year anyway so I could pick just before it started what one gave me the most ideas... and now I just gotta do both. Thank Zhie... *grumbles a little and goes to find a corner to sulk in* Like I didn't have enough stress trying to figure out the right Halloween costume to wear.

Oh my goodness, I'm a past WI Elsewhere girl! This is quite the conflict of interests. :P

Oddly enough, I was once affiliated with WI: Elsewhere (still kept the forum linked), and Epros was once a WI: Milw & Wauk, which is the reason why it's a 'friendly' fight ;-)

How can it not be friendly, when it's just one more motive to write! If the "rivalry" gets more of us all to 50,000, we all come out ahead, and more of us win.

Last year I was part of the Elsewhere and not Milw & Wauk and last year I tried really hard to write more to help Elsewhere get more words then Milw Wauk... so I guess what this tells people about me is I'll end up fighting on whatever side I happen to be part of at the time without any reason for it. :)
