Are there any around? It'd be great to set up a meetup or writein somewhere nearby, here... but I'm not sure how many might be around my area.

Would love to meet ya!

That's my neck of the woods! I'd love to have some people locally to meet. So far, most of the write-ins aren't terribly convenient, but if we had something in the Wash Park / DU area, that would be great. Perhaps we could organize something at Stella's Coffeehouse?

Ooh! Stella's would be great! I hope we'll hear from a few others, at least. But if not, I have a central Denver friend who might be able to join us. And maybe we can recruit others to come this way. Let's keep talking... anyone else?

What do you think about a Wednesday 7-9 PM write-in at Stella's? I'm there most weeks at that time writing, and we have a pretty good chance of grabbing some tables together in the back room if we get there by 6:30 -7.

I have a normal Wednesday activity, but could skip out once or twice if we plan something. I think that sounds like a great time and I'm up for it!

Which Wednesday (or, if desired, how many Wednesdays) would we like to do this? Or if Wednesday doesn't work for others, when would?

I love this idea. I'm looking forward to scheduling good writing time!

Peace

Just trying to bump this again. Anyone else in Wash Park/DU?

I'd like to set up our Stella's write-ins for the calendar, but want to make sure Wednesdays work for folks. Tuesday would actually be better for me, but I could do Wednesday. If anyone would like to participate, is there a preference? I know Spleen is already there on Wednesdays... Anyone? Anyone?

Bueller?

;)

I'm interested. I could do either Tuesdays or Wednesdays -- I'm pretty open.

Hey Katharine, hello! How's life this year!

I could do Wednesdays if the weather is good. How is parking at 6:30 or 7:00 pm? I have handicapped tags, but that doesn't often mean a space available. And what is the address again?

Last question....my laptop doesn't have a battery....it overheats with one. Can i plug it in to type?

Tuesdays and Wednesdays work equally well for me. I normally stop by Stella's once a week or so, anyway, on one of those evenings.

As to laptops, I believe they have a few power plugs available inside, but I'm not 100% on that.

There are a pretty good number of plugs in the back room, plus I always travel with a 10' surge protector like a good ML, so we should be OK for power.

I could also do a couple of Tuesdays if that worked better for people, but possibly not all of them.

Wednesday's are definitely better for me. Where is STella's again? I know I've been there once but at 44 the memory is failing....LOL....makes for interesting noveling!

Hey Sherrill! It's on Old Pearl -- 1476 S. Pearl St., zip code 80210. It's all on-street parking there, to my knowledge. Will you be able to manage?

Thanks for the info, Katharine. I should be able to, especially if I get there early before it gets too crowded and the parking all gets pushed out.

I"ll mapquest it to find the cross street. Thanks again.

I've had another offline vote for Wednesday nights, so I'm going to go ahead and set this write-in for Wednesdays. I'll put it on the calendar. Hope to see you all there!

I'm a DU student and am definitely going to try to make at least one of these meetups. Any other students here? If so maybe we could do something on campus as well.

Sorry I replied so late, only just figured out how to join this network.

I'm actually a part-time student at CU Denver, but I live near the DU campus. I'm always looking for people to motivate me in my quest for 50,000.

Hey -- does anyone know if Stella's has free wifi, or if you have to pay? Or nothing at all?

Katharine--Stella's has free wi-fi, when it works, which is usually but not always. Ask the baristas for the password, or I can tell you when I get there.

See you all soon!

Awesome write-in. Managed to accumulate just over 4,900 words, and I had Smarties, to boot! Saw Spleen and Katharine Swan. Who else was there?

We had ten people or so there. I wonder: what sort of word count did we manage to achieve all summed up?

Wow, you figured out who I was. I realized after we left that I had neglected to introduce myself!

It was a great write-in! Sorry for all the silliness we caused the adult table to deal with, but for some of us this was a reunion of sorts. It was great to see a few familiar faces -- and meet the new kids, too. :o) I'm looking forward to next week!

Sadly, I didn't contribute anything to the collective word count. As per my usual, I was finishing up client work before I could work on my novel. (Noveling will not commence for another half hour or so.) If we want to start tracking collective word count, though, I'll be sure to work on the novel next time!

I imagine I'll be in the neighborhood. I haven't written anything in a week, so I definitely need a write-in just to catch up to where my word count should be.

HA! I salvaged the night after all: I ended up writing 1400 words here tonight. Which means I wrote 1300 after the rest of you (except Kendall) left! SUCCESS!!!! I wrote something.

Anyone else planning to be there this coming Wednesday? I know it might be a quiet night, being the day before Thanksgiving and all, so I wanted to see who was planning on coming.

I'm hoping to be there... it's the last Wednesday, after all, and I have a LOT of ground to gain. We'll see how the next few days go, now that I have a week of unemployment time to devote just to this... ;)

Okay. I'm crap at remembering names. Have I met you at past Stella's write-ins? I'm worried about finding one another if we are the only two there.

It's okay. The name's Erin, and I was there at the first one. I was at the "grown up" table. ;) I didn't talk much, though.

I'm not sure now whether I'll be able to make it or not. I'm torn. But I'll try to let you know within the next hour or so so that you don't look around for someone who's not going to be there.

My picture's on my profile, BTW, in case you want to see what I look like, kindof. ;)

Have fun...

Sadly, I'm not going to make it after all. I'm tired, warm, and full, and since I spent most of the day cold and hungry (out at the barn), I don't really feel like going anywhere. So I'll be fighting the good fight from the warmth and comfort of my couch! Sorry I couldn't make it!
