Hi, y'all! Your friendly local co Municipal Liason, here. Nicki's the name, trying not to lose my head before November is the game.

In that vein, I'm here to talk about write-ins. Erin and I would like to see if there is enough interest to run a Wednesday and a Sunday write-in every week, either at the Whitehall Barnes & Noble, Borders, or Panera.

Who is up for the following?:

  • Wednesdays, 7 p.m., Panera
  • Sundays, 2 p.m., Borders

We are open to suggestions as to time and location, and who is most interested in which day. We can do both, or we can focus on one.

(Many thank you's to Kelly/TheScribe for gathering the Whitehall/Northampton/Walnutport-ers in a thread! We can't do this without you guys!!)

Thanks, guys! We'll get a general consensus and add them to the schedule before November starts.

I would definitely be up for both of them! That sounds great to me. I would probably only be able to do one of those days a week though since I have two little ones at home. Panera and Borders are good locations, a quick ten minutes from where I live.

You're welcome. I saw all the posts about Quakertown, etc., and knew I wouldn't be able to make those. It seems we have several in the Whitehall area so I figured why not?

The two days you mentioned sound good to me. Sunday's are pretty much a guarantee, Wednesday might be a toss up, but I think I can do it. Give me a good excuse to go out. :)

For those who might want their computers with them, Panera has free Wi-Fi and Borders, last I heard, is going to have free Wi-Fi soon, if they don't already. (Barnes & Noble has free Wi-Fi also)

If there is anything else I can help with, let me know. Til then - see you all on Sunday, Borders at the Whitehall Mall. :)

Whitehall's sort of out of my way. I'm also a fairly new driver and the thought of driving through Whitehall scares me, but I want to atleast make it to one to write in to meet all you Whitehall Nanos because there seems to be a lot of you.

As you may have noticed, these are filled in on our regional calendar now.

My son has soccer on Sunday afternoons for the first couple of weeks, so I won't be able to make those write-ins, but I'll try after that. I'll also aim to be at Panera on Wednesdays.

So will anyone be at the Borders tomorrow, and if so, where will we meet there? I was planning on coming if anyone else will be there.

I hope people can make it today - 2pm at Borders - Whitehall Mall. Unfortunately, I have the flu - day 4 now and feel like crap. I want to go and have thought about it, but am afraid of passing it on.

My goal is to be better by Wednesday! I have started writing and am making good progress. At least I can write while I'm on the couch and possibly work ahead.

Sorry I can't be there.......:(

Feel better, Kelly! I'll keep checking back here to see if anyone else is going. If not, maybe I'll try to make it Wednesday, although that's a little tougher for me. We'll see how it goes.

I wouldn't be able to make any of the write-ins. Whitehall is to far out for me and I'm going to be a new driver soon, so I don't want to drive out in that. Sorry =(

I don't blame you! I've had my license since July and I'm a little weary with doing it.

I'll try to make it to as many as I can!! My grandmother and I are NaNo-ing together, so we'd be happy to come!!

Gotta get back to my novel...so far, all my protagonists have really done is argue over the direction they want the story to take. :)

I used to work in the Lehigh Valley Mall and it was crazy just trying to get there. Bunch of crazy drivers out there.

Sorry!

I think it's a great idea to meet up tho!

Turns out I can't come this Sunday. Everyone at my house is sick, my mother insisting she has "Swine Flu." I swear she's a bigger hypochondriac than most men. And I have to work the next two nights at work, dusk to dawn. So in the interests of not making anyone too sick to write and so that I can grab a few extra Zzz's before I go in later, I'm going to sit this one out.

Maybe I'll get to come next Sunday.

Not sure about being able to do the Wed night, but I would love to see everyone at the Borders on Sundays.

Looks like I missed yesterday. Did anybody show up? Did you guys recognize each other or set off a section to meet at? I work on Wednesdays, but I'm off on Sundays...although, getting up before 2 on a Sunday will be a challenge :))

I did not get to attend, but I suggest that when/if we meet up next Sunday, that we meet in the reference section near the writing books or that we meet in the cafe and ask them to announce that there is a National Novel Writing Month Group meeting. That way us bashful writing types won't be forced to chat up complete strangers. ;-)

I didn't hear on the boards here that anyone was going to make it yesterday so I didn't go. I'm iffy about making it this Wednesday, but I should definitely be able to come on Sunday. Just let me know where!

Border's in Whitehall, Sunday, 2-4 p.m. - I will be there and will be bearing goodies from the kick-off party.

Unfortunately, we ate all the cookies.

They were good.

And Erin will be hosting the Wednesday evening write-ins, which I hope to be able to drop by after 8 p.m. (when the children are asleep....*evil laugh*).

Any way, look for the woman in the neon yellow/green shirt. Next year I will have a matching vinyl banner. ;)

You have the flu too? I'm in day 13. severe GI virus and taking loads of antibiotics. luckily I can work from home as a columnist so I just spend my days in bed writing. Not a bad career to have when you are feeling too horrible to move.

Nearly a week now. A combination of the flu and sinus infection. A columnist? who do you work for? I worked the Whitehall-Catty News before they folded, then did a stint with East Penn Press. I still write freelance, but thanks to the economy do work part time helping a friend run his business.

Being sick I have still been able to write and help him out from home.

I was planning to come to Panera tonight for the 7 p.m. write-in, but then my daughter woke me up at 4:30 a.m., so I'm on the tired side. (You know, these meetings were a lot easier when I only had a 5-year-old!) My son's still trying to convince me to go (he wants to come, too), which means I might. But if I'm not there this week, expect me on Sunday for sure!

I'm ashamed to say that this is the first I've really checked in with the LV. I live here in Whitehall and would love to go to the write-ins. Never have before. Unfortuantly I (and my husband and our 2 kids - a 2 yr old and 7 month old )- all have the flu. So if I am well enough by Sunday I will try and make it but if not, perhaps next week. I don't live far from either location and so I really hope to come out soon. Sounds like fun.

Hey, all! There are currently two of us at the Whitehall Borders right now, looking for more people to join us! Seating is cramped, but there are a couple of tables available. I think if people didn't mind tapping on their laps, we could definitely commandeer us a couple of chairs!

I've got a power strip with spots for five more laptops, and I'll probably be here until 4 p.m. There's still time to come!

Oh, I'm the one in the corner with the bright yellow shirt half-covered with a black hooded sweatshirt.

Come write with us!

Hey, I was hoping to make it today but my husband was working on a project for the church. He's making a new design for the business cards, bullitines, mailers, everything. Anyhow, he just wrapped up bout an hour ago and I'm just getting started with my nano for today. I'm pretty far behind. I'll try and make it for next week. I'm with you in spirit.

Hey, everyone! Don't forget that there will be a Wednesday night (@ 7 p.m.) write-in at Panera this week! I'm going to see if I can get my lovely, darling husband to put the kids to bed for me so I can attend at the proper time (not after everyone except for Gina has left already).

I hope to be able to see you all there!

I'll be at Panera in Whitehall at 7 p.m. sharp tonight - no more 8:30 foolishness.

Who will meet me there? I have three goodie packages that need homes with people I haven't seen at a write-in or party yet!

But I am coming tonight. :-D Hey, if you're there, does that mean I don't have to wear the neon shirt? ;-)
