We will gather at 10:45PM halloween night for festivities, to eat, caffeinated, and ready ourselves for the moment of greatness (midnight!) I know that i will be there until at least 2AM. The second 2AM, since we have the joy of daylight savings time happening the night of the kick off. Please come join us. I will be in costume. Since it is halloween. So feel free to come dressed up. As a character from your novel. As a character that you would like to be. As something that has nothing to do with writing. Anything goes.
Stickers and score cards will be handed out. PLEASE PLEASE RSVP on the thread in the forum so I know how many people to expect, and we can let them know how many people will be taking over.
That evening at 7pm will also be out first social event. We will be having a nice, relaxing OMG what have i gotten myself into I should be writing not socializing, are you crazy for making us do this lady dinner at Chilis at I-10 and De Zavala.
I look forward to seeing everything.

Yeah, that is WAY farther than I was expecting too. I'll end up driving through clubbing/ bar hopping traffic and I'm-drunk-but-I-need-to-get-home-before-my-parents/kids/spouse/cops-find-out. Its worth it.

Awesome. I'll be there Sat. PM and stay as late as I can stand. I'm doing military SF this year so expect me in a pseudo military uniform. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like my new laptop is going to show up in time, so hopefully my ancient laptop will last just one more week.

I will try to make it to the kickoff at Jims since I live so close, but will not be at Chili's since I have to do the mom gig and schlep the kiddos out to beg...I mean trick or treat. If I show up in costume, expect to see a vampire. I'll probably also be the old-timey geek using tapping out on a stone tablet. Okay, so maybe I'll upgrade to pen and paper. Y'all have fun at the events this weekend. I won't be able to make it to these but maybe next weekend, or after that. Of course, this would be easier to say if we could do something not on the other side of town...
I'd try and come tomorrow night but my schedule is screaming in my ear mentioning the fact that I won't be able to officially start my novel until about 4 or 5 tomorrow, since I'm going to a party tonight and work at 7am tomorrow.
But I am making it my goal to make it to at least one event this year. And winning. :)

I'm so excited, I just got it confirmed a few minutes ago. My mom is on her way to get me (I'm in Kerrville for school) as we speak. YAY KICK-OFF!
