I am working on a short story for a Zombie themed contest. I am not a Zombie person, as a matter of fact I would say I have a Zombie phobia. The issue I am having is kind the "How far is to far?" question. So, I'll just blurt out my ideas and you guys tell me if seems like I might be crossing the line a little.

The setting is a daycare. It is the day after they have held a vaccination fair for the children. The children are all being given the latest vaccine to prevent a new flu virus from spreading. The main character is a temp that is working for only a week as a fill in. She has a dislike of kids but really needs the money. She arrives to work the day after the vaccinations were given to find all the children are more agitated than they have been the rest of the week. Of course, the vaccine is barer of a virus that begins transforming the children into flesh craving zombies. The heroine will be forced to fight her way through the 5 and under zombies for any chance of survival.
I thought about including descriptions of the zombie children attacking the other children.(not everyone vaccinates) The main character might hear one child crunching on the finger bones of another. A daycare worker that is rocking a child turns zombie and begins eating the child like a slice of watermelon. I may possibly include an infant that has not cut teeth yet but still viscously gums at flesh.
Please know that: 1) I do NOT want to kill small children! 2) I do not want others to kill small children!
I have 3 children of my own that I love very much. I went with the idea of children zombies because they scare me more than anything. Anyway, now that everyone has gotten a look into my darker side please share your thoughts and lock your doors….that last part is a joke!
