I was wondering if we had any plans (or vague desires) to meet up on the first and do a bit of a write in? I've never been in one as this is my first year on NaNo, but I wouldn't mind meeting other people and sharing our mutual (schizo-like) energy.

I can't go to a 1st-day write-in, because it's all All Saints Sunday and I have a really crazy church schedule.

For any future write-ins, though, B&N is now offering free wi-fi, and there's one in CityPlace, downtown West Palm Beach. *nudge*

I'm down for a write-in on the first. As far as I know, I don't have work that day, so my schedule's open. And I'd definitely like to do meet-ups later on, too. Last year I was stuck in bed with a broken knee, so I missed out on all the fun.

Hmm, I like that location, the B&N in CityPlace. We should probably aim for at least 3 or 4 people.

What exactly happens in a write-in meetup? We write? lol

I went to a few back in 04 and 05. Yeah, usually you grab a coffee, sit and talk for a while, and then buckle down. Also, I just found out I have to make an evening meeting at 6:00, so sometime prior would be ideal. I was thinking maybe lunch time or just after (then anyone who wants to observe a religious ceremony of their preference would hopefully be able to make it afterward). And the City Place locale is good for me as well. Anyone else interested?

I'm down in Boca, but I might be able to make it on Sunday. Have we settled on a time? Looking forward to it!

Alright, so four of us can make it, and preferably at around lunchtime.

Alright, we can meet there at around 11? I'll probably be there at 11 o'clock, but I know that some of you at least will drive far. See ya'll for lunch on the first!!

Hopefully this will repeat at least a few times throughout November.

Wish I could too. But I too am in church until about noon and then I have to dash home and do my writing. I write best alone anyway, when I can put my music on and go with the flow.

good time, central location. I've not met any of you so how will I recognize the right group of nanowrimo people?

I can be there at 11. I think anyone with a t-shirt should wear it. Or else bring a sign. Or if you see the crazies in the t-shirts and the signs, then you can just join in. :)

Do we have a municipal liaison for the PB's, or are we staging a southern NaNo uprising? ;)
I went to a write in the first year, but I think the liaison mistook the event as an opportunity to unload her chatty teens and their collective entourage on unsuspecting NaNo-ers. I think the event damaged my social graces as I have now fallen into a permanent state of curmudgeonry.
(OK, for arguments sake it could have been someone else's kids, but tonight I'll blame her, because I have a selective memory.)

I could be persuaded to crawl out from under the large rock that sits in my cave if rumors of actual writing were to run rampant. ... maybe .. possibly ... is coffee involved? Ooooo, what about Chai tea?!

I'd love to participate but I am in church in Clewiston until noon-ish. I wouldn't be able to be there until 1:30ish. Maybe a meet up at the B&N in Wellington? and/or a later time? I'd really like to come. *hopeful*

Let's see if I can make this easier... Could everyone who attends wear a red or blue shirt? To be extra clear, we should all gravitate towards the balcony side (right if facing Starbucks counter)?

As for timing issues... I'll be there at 11, but I'll probably stay much longer than that if there's people to keep company or a conversation going. I'm willing to stay all day if needed, Nov. 1st will be the last truly free and unemployed day I'll have for a long while, I hope. Of course, there's gonna be a hell of a lot of writing. At least on my part, I plan to make November 1st as productive as humanly possible. But this is also to socialize a bit, I gather!

I hope this can be agreed upon and worked out?

(Also, I really do hope they serve chai tea... Or else!)

Red t-shirt it is! And I'll at least be able to stay 2 or 3 hours (I have a company meeting in the evening, and I need to get home before that to take my dog out), so anyone who wants to come later should definitely drop by. The write-ins I went to up north tended to go on for most of the day, with people coming and going as their schedules allowed. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

*sob* I can't make it. I have All Saints Day tomorrow, and despite not being an Episcopalian, I'm singing three services at Bethesda in Palm Beach. (They pay me. :P) After that, which about is 5pm, I'm running off to have "real" church, which is a home fellowship.

I have this terrible feeling that I may get no writing done on Sunday. Or, for that matter, schoolwork - but who cares about schoolwork... >>

Anyhow. Have a great time, all. ^^ Hopefully there could be another meet at B&N in the future? I really want to go.

Okay, it sounds like I won't miss much by coming around 1:30 or so. I'll be wearing a burgundy shirt (as close to red as I have) with laptop in hand. I vote for a very productive day as well. Cheers!

It was great seeing you guys at the write-in! I wish I could have stayed longer, but I'm looking forward to the next. I've heard Boca and Wellington thrown out as location ideas. What's everyone leaning towards (I'm close enough to both, and I don't mind driving a bit anyway)?

I enjoyed meeting some fellow WriMo's today. Would love to get together again. B&N in either Wellington or CityPlace works the best for me.
Next time I'll bring a little 3-plug expander for the power outlet.

It was great!

I had a lot of fun and totally enjoyed meeting each and all of you. I too hope we can repeat soon. And yes, Welling and Boca are possibilities, as is every other B&N location? Do they all have free internet? As far as I know, there is also one in Boynton Beach. I'm sure there are more further north, for you northerners in this region.

At any rate, I wish everyone a very very very productive day/week/month. I'm certainly quite pleased I got to where I am now, and I do thank everyone at the write-in for it. You guys definitely helped! :P

Didn't make it. The afore mentioned daughter talked me into Halloween Horror Nights up in Orlando. We got in about 4 am. Maybe the next go round.
I can find the Wellington B&N, and CitiPlace. Both are a drive for us, but possible.
Give a holler if something pops up.

I'm so glad I made it to the write-in today. I really enjoyed meeting each one of you. I'm looking forward to a productive month and to encouraging you to do the same. I can meet at City Place but would prefer Wellington. I don't think I'd make it to Boca. Have a great Nano week! =)

It was good meeting all of you. I'm up for another write-in. I'm good to go for CityPlace, Wellington, or Palm Beach Gardens. I will also try to remember to bring along a power strip. Good luck and good writing to you all this week.

So so so sorry I missed the write-in! Sounds like all that went had a productive time. I ended up sitting down at my computer and never getting up. I'm hoping to make the next one though! Good luck to everyone =)
