Whoa, there are actually people here!

Hello, I am Miha from Trebnje, this is my third year here. Good to see that there are others in my country taking interest in the collective procra- ahem, procreation!

On that note, I bid you all good luck with your novels! (Oh, I'm writing mine in Slovene.)

Lep pozdrav!

Miha

lol Hi! Yes, good to see so many here!! I didn't think I'd find anyone from Slovenia either! :)

How's it going, everyone?
I'm way behind as I didn't write anything last week (just recorded some stuff on the voice recorder to be transcribed and fleshed out later) I'd love to get going and write every day again!

Mipe, you are almost finished - WOW!! What is your secret? ;)

Hammer away at the keyboard, away from all distractions (especially the Internet), without worrying about grammar and stuff! But yeah, if you've looked at my NaNo stats, you may notice I've already deleted a bunch of my novel to rewrite. When I get in the mood, I can write a staggering amount in one day.

Oh, having too much free time can help, too. ;)

Still not done with my novel, though, feels like I am on one third. Anyway, don't get discouraged, there is still half a month left and I've written a whole novel in less time before, so it is possible. You just need time for yourself, inspiration, clear mind (headaches suck, which is why some days I didn't write at all) and ABSOLUTELY NO DISTRACTIONS AT ALL! That part is kinda important.

And most important of all - enjoy!

You can do it!
M.

Thanks for the tips, Miha!

Ooh, internet is a terrible distraction for me, I admit!!

I've set it as reward to go and check NaNoWriMo and post my bodycount - I mean, wordcount - every 1.000 words or so (maybe that's too soon, hmm?)
It's the biggest problem when I turn on the computer 'just to check the e-mail'... /sigh/

Do you have a separate computer with no internet?

Yeah, I noticed you deleted a bunch, and was wondering about that.
Maybe it's easier to write faster if you have a higher goal (100k+)?

Do you imagine or 'dream up' scenes in advance or 'just write'?
I sometimes get ideas on my walks, or just before/after sleep, so keeping a mp3 recorder by is handy.. (I feel I'll run out of space soon though!:)

One of my problems is that I have stuff written out, and it's sort of jumbled. (Scenes not in the 'right' order) Some people say not to edit before December, some basic editing is probably okay though?

Do you have scenes in the correct order (according to plan/synopsis) or 'just write'?

& WOW, a whole novel in half a month?!! You're terribly inspiring!!

EcoLayla, I'm still more behind than you! But I'm kind of giving up, I don't know. I hate me for that but I don't manage to write, even if I have quite much free time. My story is a mess and I don't write in the order, and I guess it's a bit discouraging.
Hmpf.

Anyway, congrats Mipe! and good luck to you all!

Don't let it get to you, NaNoWriMo is about letting the story out of your mind through writing.

I, too, get ideas when out on errands or such, am quite easily inspired, but when it comes to the actual work, it suddenly evaporates as soon as I sit down at the computer. Ugh. Too many distractions. No, I don't use an offline computer, so this is a real test of my willpower. ;)

I've decided to stop my novel and do a complete rewrite this winter, most likely around Christmas, because I really do get in the mood then!

Somehow I feel so exhausted... but man, I really enjoyed the process!
