Hey guys! We figured it would be easier if there were a central place for everyone to put up information about unofficial write-ins you'd like to do, so that we don't all have to prowl through a dozen different threads to find that info to put on the calendar up there for everyone else!
If you have a write-in you'd like to organize, be sure to include the following info in your post:
-When (date and time)
-Where (if in a public venue, also include the address; if in a private venue, please DO NOT provide the address, have interested participants PM you directly for safety reasons)
-How people will know who you are (like a sign, a laptop, a bag, a hat...whatever!)
-Any rules you want to put down beforehand (like if you want a silent writing activity rather than something more social, for example...if you don't have any other rules, this part obviously doesn't apply!)
We'd also request that, to minimize confusion, everyone check the Google calendar of events and try to pick a date and/or time that doesn't conflict with anyone else's write-ins or meetings; it lessens the chances of people getting mixed up and showing up at the wrong time or place for the event they wanted to attend, and that way we can all try to attend as many as we want to without feeling like we have to choose. Everybody wins! ^_^.
That said, go to it! Essbee and I will be checking back regularly to add anything posted here to the calendar.

Hello!
A last minute plan has happened and there's going to be an unofficial write-in on Sunday - there will be some NaNoWriMo people in Biblocafe from about 1200 onwards. There isn't an official finishing time or anything but it's pretty likely that someone'll be there until closing time at 2000. Biblocafe is a potentially dangerous place, since it's a coffeeshop and second-hand bookshop, but I'm willing to take the risk just this once - and if anyone else is inclined to live dangerously, see you there!
It's not a reservation so feel free to turn up if you feel like it - we'll be upstairs and since it's not a big place probably fairly easy to spot. My laptop / notebook / thing has a NaNo sticker on it but if in doubt ask at the bar - they know we'll be there.
Map of where Biblocafe is below (link is to its own website). It's very close to Kelvinbridge underground.

See you on Sunday!

I'll be there about twelve. You'll recognise me because I'll have a copy of the FT under one arm and I'll be wearing a false moustache.

If I manage to appear tomorrow I'll be the short thing with the huge purple backpack who looks rather lost and confused. I'm heading out to Bute tomorrow so might not have time.

Hello all,
A group of us are meeting on Saturday in "The Tramway" http://www.tramway.org/cafe_bar/ from about 12:30 till whenever.
It's not official, nor is it organised, it is the first time we've been there so if it's no use we'll be trekking through the damp streets of Glasgow looking for an alternative. If you feel like coming along we'll see you there. If we move we'll post on the group first.
Al

Al, I'm having some trouble with the calendar right now (and the internet in general...I think the campus connection is just wonky today) but we'll have that up on there as soon as possible!

Hello.
I can't make Tuesday and Sunday write-ins and I found the live jazz at mono too distracting so I am thinking about setting up a regular unofficial write-in on a weekday. Probably on the South side.
I have some ideas but want to know if anyone else is interested.

Hello, also.
A possible other unofficial write-in sounds good - take this as a possibly interested depending on where (EDIT - and when.) Mono is a lovely place but the jazz was kind of beyond loud and into an actual physical presence - so I'm not going to be at any more Wednesdays there (fine with the other days - as I say, lovely place.) This may mean that I'm officially getting old but so be it!

certainly interested in jazz free nights. i'll not be going to a wednesday night, all reports of the night sound too difficult for working.

Please do keep us posted. Mono is generally ideal for writing as it's so quiet. I'd def be interested in an alternate albeit unofficial venue. Tramway shuts at 8 so that'll be no use for week nights even if those of us going there on Saturday think it's a good place.

EDITED TWICE NOW
Sorry, I'm very tired today, heh.
I just realized where Tramway is. And I'm too darned lazy to get all the way down there, hehehehe.
If any of you are meeting near city center or the west end, tell meee :)

Hello!
Just a wee note to say that there will be a group of NaNoWriMo people meeting up for an extra write-in on Thursday (the 19th, that is) at the Tinderbox on Ingram Street in the town centre, if you would like to join us. First people will probably be there from about five-ish and the place closes at ten.
We should be findable by the many laptops - if in doubt, mine has a NaNoWriMo sticker on it. There's a pretty well-hidden room at the back as well, if we're not immediately visible!

Hi there,
Anyone planning to have an unofficial write in on Thursday (26th November)? I'm rather behind but can't make the write ins on Tuesday or Wednesday. And I'm way behind, currently sitting on 30, 000 :(
