Is anyone planning to start writing immediately after midnight on Saturday/Sunday night?

Since I'm not going out for Halloween this year (the first time in nearly 10 years!) I've decided that I might just have to start writing at 00:01 on Sunday.

And if anyone wants to join me, I'll be in our chat room from sometime before that!

It sounds like a great idea to start at midnight but unfortunately I'll be starting the next day.

I'm going to watch Dawn of the Dead at Castlecourt on Halloween night and I might be too tired to start at midnight.

15 minutes to go! I'm both excited and slightly terrified for some reason!

No chance. I had enough trouble thinking up one for myself! ;-)

Started at midnight and have a nice 2112 words now, and will go to bed content. :) About 700 of those were during the two 10 minute word wars we had - thanks guys!

I did 1998 words in 2 hours! And this is my first time too! I'm feeling very pleased with myself. :-D All I can say is that I'm really glad I put in the effort I made last month planning, it's been invaluable so far. No sitting twiddling my thumbs, just look at my plan and forge on. I'm gonna make myself a coffee now and see if I can't get myself up to 4000 before I go to bed. I just wish I hadn't chosen this week to quit smoking! I shall reward myself with chocolate instead. :-D

I'll go check if there's a burn "50000 calories in December" challenge happening anywhere next month. :)

Wow, that midnight start and those word sprints were definitely worth it - I've already written more words than I can usually manage on the whole of the first day (record: 801), and it looks like a lot of us are off to very good starts!

Unfortunately I went to bed /already/ wanting to rewrite my first paragraphs - not such a good thing!

That would be helpful! LOL
At this rate I'm going to be a proper chubster by the end of November. so long as I'm a chubster with a 50,000 word novel I'll be quite happy though... :-D

I don't think you sealed that envelope with your inner editor very well... How about some sticky tape? Or super glue? ;)

I started writing at midnight (sorry I didn't join you in the chatroom, farfalla) after I came back from a Halloween ball at the Echoplex and did 1573 words - less than the 2 previous years, but still, and I was really tired despite all the Red Bull.
I wish I could rewrite it all too, because it's really bad!! >_<

Did some more this more this morning and reached 2193 words :D
