Are you ready? Are you nervous? Are you stocking up on candy, potato chips and your favorite pens? Are you feverishly outlining so you can make it through that mid-month slump when the only solid idea you have is lifting copy off the back of a cereal box (remember that good writers imitate but great writers steal, so take words wherever you can)!
Just a quick reminder that the Akron NaNo Kickoff Party is scheduled for Wednesday, November 4, 7 p.m., at the Lockview Lounge in downtown Akron. Check the Akron NaNo Calendar for details. At the party, we'll celebrate the fact that you're writing 1,667 words (or more!) a day and your tally is reaching 6,668 in just a few short days. For those who attend, we'll spend time getting to know each other and learning about what we're working on but we also may throw in a few 10-minute writing stints to help you reach or exceed your word count for the day. Bring your pen and paper, bring your laptop. Apparently some will also be bringing sombreros. :-)
And don't forget to set your clocks and "fall back" on November 1. Daylight savings time and NaNo start on the same day -- clearly, the world is working in favor of all Akron NaNos winning this year!!
