I told you all last night that I was writing a fairly serious fantasy about dwarves. I've thought so for weeks! But on the way home I changed my mind!

I've decided instead to write gonzo sci-fi in the style of Douglas Adams. Because suddenly the idea of not having access to Zaphod-level weirdness makes me claustrophobic. XD So I guess it's time for some serious non-sequitor therapy.

Anyway, I'm mentioning this just in case anyone else out there is in the same boat. I know it's October 30th, but if your awesome idea just isn't tickling your brain cells the way it used to, feel free to drop it and saran-wrap it for later!

*fires up the improbability drive*

Good for you! Last year, I didn't think of a plot until I was several days into November (and then got too busy with work to get anywhere with it.)

I know what you mean. When I finally sat down to write today, instead of detective fiction or suspense, I started writing a Science Fiction/Fantasy novel, the idea for which came to me as I fell asleep around midnight last night. Must have been a lot of discarded, spare plots suddenly floating in the ether ...

Remember -- no matter how many or how few words bleed from your fingertips, by Nov. 30 you'll have written more of a a novel than most people write in a lifetime. Keep writing! Because darn it, it's fun!
