I'm a freshman, and carless, but it would pretty much rock my world to go to the midnight write-in tomorrow. If any fellow Belmont student (or maybe even Vanderbilt?) is planning on going, I would really appreciate the possibility of getting a ride! If anybody would be willing, please send me a message! You're amazing :)

Heyyyy I'm a Belmont kid too, and had figured it was pretty much impossible for me to go to a write-in (due to lack of transportation), but do you think we could make a little informal write-in in our area sometime?

Marina - I don't do write ins at Bongo Java because they're always so loud and so busy. If you'd like to have one, go for it. :) If you want it somewhat official, pick a time on the calendar that's free. If you want an unofficial thing, just say "I'll be at this place at this time".

MarinaCIA226, I drove Telecontar this evening (morning?? haha) to the write-in and would be glad to drive fellow Belmont-ians to write-ins over the next month. If you ever decide you want to go to one, let me know. :) Tonight's was really fun.
Also, it's totally doable to do a write-in at Belmont. I agree with fly. Bongo Java is just TOO crowded and loud. We'd never get anything done. haha I'm sure we can put something together in one of the conference rooms at the library. They can seat quite a few people there, but it's one of those things for which you have to make reservations.
Hmm... Where within walking distance of Belmont cold we hold an informal write-in? This will require some thought.

Well, this would totally save me trouble with riding the bus. xD Yes, since we get free bus fare, I figured that'd be better, but it involved a lot of walking and up to 40 minute transit time just to get to the library, for example. So I think that we should try to see just how many of these we can organize epic car pools to and from and possibly make friends! -cheesy-
FarEom/Stef, are you going to the write-in at Borders on the 4th? Since that's the only night I don't have to work minus weekends, I'd absolutely love to go to it if you can give me a ride. :)
Also, yes, the library conference rooms are definitely a good thought. I don't think we have to reserve them, though. o.o At least, last year a group of my friends and I just went up and asked if there was one open, and then gave them an ID to get the key to unlock it. It's worth a try, at least, though we'd have to sort of keep the noise level down. The walls in those rooms are pretty thin and I'd feel bad for anyone outside of them.
Maybe the Honors House would let us have a write-in there? It's an old house that used to serve as a dorm for female Honors students, and it's across the street from Belmont Heights. There's a functioning kitchen, with like a microwave and an oven and a coffeepot and hot chocolate packets and coffee everything, and not only is there a little lobby that we could sit in with a couch and a chair and stuff, but they also have a little conference area where they sometimes have classes. I don't know how many outlets there are for laptops, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't mind as long as we didn't disrupt a class. :) If that sounds good to people, then I can go talk to the secretary or the head of the Honors program (they're both insanely sweet people) and ask if it's kosher.

Unfortunately, I work on the night of that Borders write-in. Very unfortunate as I was wanting to go to that one! :(
I'm a huge fan of the epic, friend-making car pools idea! hehe The Honors House sounds like a great idea, too. Why don't you go ahead and ask? We could probably even use that area several times over the course of the month if the powers that be deem that it's, as you put it, "kosher." :)

I live in the area, too-- if one of you sees me RSVP for a write-in, please don't hesitate to send a private message to ask for a ride. Honestly-- it's no extra trouble for me and write-ins are so much more fun when there are a good number of people there.
