Howdy all. Sorry it's taken me so long to post an update on this, but I've been really sick this week. Don't worry though, you can still come see me at the write-in on Sunday, I'm not contagious!
Anywho, I've got a URL for our online chat. It will start around 10:30 on October 31st, and go until whenever. However, since the link goes to a page on my website, the chat will be available there all month for anyone to use.

You will need to have java installed on your computer. To change your Nick, type /nick then a space followed by whatever you want your Nick to be. As long as that Nick is available, it will change it.

It's crashing Firefox but works in IE for me. I couldn't get it to change my nick, though. :(

Oh, and PS folks, try to make your nick your NaNo username so we know who we're talking to. :)

I use Firefox too, and haven't had any problems. And my laptop is older and crappier than yours, so I got nothing. Except, my Firefox just updated itself, so maybe you need to do that?
I had trouble with the Nick at first too, but that was mostly because I was doing it wrong. :o)
If you're sure you're typing the right thing in to change your Nick and it's still not working that's because someone else on Quakenet is using it. Which sucks. But, if you're trying to do Dev, and it doesn't work I'd try something like DevML, or NaNoDev, something like that.

I have an update. If your like Dev and the chat is crashing Firefox for you, try to update Firefox. If it still crashes, you need to update java. :O)

IRC can be a little tricky for people who have never used it before (so maybe Googling IRC commands beforehand might help)
...and even then, sometimes people have problems depending on the servers.
But I will definitely try to be there! Hope it works for me!
