Self-explanatory: What are all of your great inspirations that make you want to write anything???
I will start off. I always want to write when...
there is a thunderstorm
the tornado sirens go off
the leaves blow briskly down the street
i am driving on a country road at night, nothing to see but the light in front of me and the little dashed yellow lines to the left passing constantly past my car
I wake up from a dream, not knowing where i am
i walk on a beach with crashing waves
a storm approaches with a drop of temperature and the soft rolling thunder
i wake up during the night with the window open, the leaves blowing outside and the warm summer night breeze blowing through my window with the curtains dancing in the air.
i wake up with my head at the end of my bed
So.. i guess if i was to write my best story yet, it would have to be every time when i wake up in the middle of the night...during a thunderstorm/tornado watch and during the summertime.

Oddly enough, two of my biggest inspirations are nature and movies. I live near the Lake, so anytime I see the moon over the water I pretty much lunge for the closest pen and paper. During the Spring I love to go sit by my Mom's flower garden and just breathe in the scents of the blooming buds. Other times, I'll get inspired by lots of different movies. The best instance that I can recall was when I was watching Sense and Sensibility and there was the scene where Kate Winslet's character was playing the piano and then Alan Rickman's character comes into the room and sees/hears her playing and you can tell it is love-at-first-sight. I probably wrote for two hours straight after watching that scene.

Complete and utter silence, a blank sheet of paper, or a computer. They just fill my brain with all sorts of thoughts that are begging to be written.

Nothing specifically inspires me but I do read a lot of fan fictions. Oddly enough anything I read can give me an urge to write or an idea not related to what I am reading. I do know having to write can motivate me but my muse can be a stubborn thing at those times.
I know I enjoy filling up a blank page and I LOVE being LORD of my own world..........the ultimate POWER trip LOL
Luckily I have the LAKE outside my window and it calms me so that could be an inspiration if I had to choose. I love nature and living between two parks is very well inspiring.

I am a daydreamer so i'd have to say that my biggest inspiration are the events i wish would happen to me. Or things i just come up with when i'm bored in class....
Inspiration for me comes from stories that make your heart fill up with joy after listening/watching them. That and every time i walk into a library or book store.

This will probably sound goofy, but pretty much everything seems to have some sort of story attached to it for me. I mean, I can shut that part of my imagination off as necessary (much like a Mom who is able to have a phone conversation with her kids screaming in the background) - but for me, pretty much everything seems to have a story in it - sometimes hidden until you dig a little deeper, but always there. (That probably doesn't make a lot of sense I suppose...)
Also, I had this really bat-sh*t experience (aka: tin foil hattery in full bloom kinda thing) in April this year, and it seems to have created this HUGE obsession with nature - trees in particular, but nature in general. So I'd have to say that's also a pretty impressive source of always-on inspiration for me.
And I guess music would be right up there - particularly the kind of music the average Jill or Joe would consider "dippy hippy" sort of music. Things like indigenous tunes (native American drums or flutes, ancient Celtic or Irish dittys), Indian Classical, Egyptian Classical, etc. etc... and some music that is considered purposed for meditation. (Though I personally don't care for the overly synthesized "new age" style much). A particular song or instrument can play a whole story in my head without much conscious effort on my part.

Inspirations:
Looking at any large display of notebooks or paper at any store.
Eavesdropping on strangers' conversations, especially on a bus. I think I wrote a lot in high school because I lived in Chicago and rode the bus everywhere.
Being alone in the house in the winter.
Reading really bad writing. It makes me go, "dang, I could do better than THIS." ;)

Eavesdropping. People watching. Human nature is an endless source of inspiration. Wanting to become a good fiction writer. Having snippets of stories inside that need to come out. Being curious to see where those snippets might take me. Imagining what happened with situations I know little or nothing about. For example, my mother always wanted to be something other than a mother. She never talked about it, but was plenty angry about it. Why? What happened? What did she want? What if?

These all sound really good! Its always interesting to hear how others get ideas and urges to write. And dont worry if you think your inspirations are weird, let them think what they may haha. I know mine are kind of random but that's ok haha. has anyone ever experienced something in your life and included that exact event in your story? if that makes sense
