Hello everyone!
November is about to start. Our fingers are twitching towards empty pages, and we're all hoping that our minds are not equally blank when the 1st finally rolls around.
Never fear! You can come and write with the rest of us crazy, over-caffeinated, page-battling wrimos. Exchange commiserations, encouragement, and ideas, or just chat. Indulge in word wars or just kick back in good company for a while.
We have a full calendar of events this month! Our first write-in is tomorrow, on the fearful 1st November.
Time: 11:30am -> 9pm
Where: Coffee Club, Park Road, Milton
Bring: money for drink/food, powerboard (if possible)
Hope to see you all there!

I'm out for this one (which I'm really upset about) - I caught the cold shortly after the KOP and have been sentenced to my bed for the next two days. Hopefully I can get a super head start on my novel though!

Aw, sorry to hear you're not feeling well! Hope you feel better soon. Fingers crossed, you can get lots of writing done while you're all tucked up. Good luck! :)

REMINDER:
If you were at the kick off party and received a 'NaNo info package' (the thing that we made you hang around your neck so we knew who you were) please remember to bring it along to todays write in -and every write in-. It is your ticket to ride (not really I just wanted to cram a Beatles song in there) but it does have your report card in it which you will need if you wish to compete for end of NaNo prizes and fun.
If you weren't at the KOP, NEVER FEAR... Kess will be bringing along spares so you can get into the competitive spirit with us.
Hope to see you all soon.
~JL

Awesome turnout yesterday! Fantastic to see so many of you, and we had lots and LOTS of words done during the write-in. Not to mention much story-swapping and general lunacy.
We shall endeavour to have the tables set up to accommodate more of us next time, to avoid shuffling around during the write-in.
The next central write-in (at the Coffee Club in Milton) is on Sunday 8th November. Come along, join in, bring report card and get shiny stickers!
Hope to see you all there. :D

Hoping to make the write in tomorrow at Milton - husband is minding the baby for the weekend so I can get a big chunk of writing done. Am hiding out at the state library today so I won't be interrupted.

I'M COMING.
Surprise surprise. ><
(... the phrase 'is that a euphamism' just played in my head o-o)
This time, I shall have my headphones and white noise, so that ought to help me to actually write things. Oh, along with the fact that I know what I'm doing now. ^^' I found somebody very awesome to talk to about the stuff I needed to talk about in Morningside, so that's good too. =]
*Pointlessly cryptic*
It's exciting to know there may be new people there too! Meeting new people is fun.
lol. Oh, and if I wasn't terrified at the prospect of having to stay at my grandfather's house, I could actually even come to the Gold Coast write-in today. ^^'
----------Everything is now finally planned - albiet loosely - to the very end.
Including a very serious incorporation of my dare and one hell of a climax. Hopefully. <3

I am going to try to make it tomorrow. I have been told there is lots of parking (need close, have a disability permit) Does anyone know if this is correct? I will drive over and if I can find a park close enough to walk there I will be there.

Mostly I park in the Coffe Club car park which is behind the building but there are stairs involved. Otherwise there is lots of street parking out the front of the restaurant and in the side streets. If your on the Corro Drive side of CC then you should be able to find a park that doesn't involve much hill climbing.
----------I'm sorry that I can't really give you more info than that but I really do hope to see you tomorrow.

I'm really going to try to come for a bit today - I need to increase my word count; thank goodness exams are over. But I can't guarantee it, unfortunately. Going to a BBQ, and am not driving myself there, so I'm relying on someone else to take me home/take me to Milton. :S
Have fun if I don't see you today!

Hi everyone!
I'm just home from the write-in. It's the first one I'd been to, and I was surprised to find that I got lots more written in a cafe with loads of people around me than I normally do at home at my desk. Of course that's partly just because the baby wasn't there with me. I'm still way behind, but I'll try and make at least 10k tonight. Would've liked to stay longer, but it was bathtime for my little one.
Anyway, it was heaps of fun. Thankyou for organising it!
Regards
Evie

Heh Evelyn, I know what you mean! I've got a nearly-one year old who dislikes mummy using the computer intensely so I got WAY more written at the writein than I have all week.
Hmm I guess I should have mingled more and met a few more peoples ;)

Awesome turnout again! I had a great time, even though I didn't get a great deal written. I'm still on track, so it's all fine for me. :)
Was fantastic to see some new faces, and some familiar ones from last year. We had several people do 10,000 words at the write-in! I'm so impressed. I need to go sit with the productive table next time. ;)
The next central write-in is on Saturday 14th November, usual time and place (11:30am, down the back). Hope you see you all there!

I got 5500-ish, which is only 500 away from my goal of 6000 in the first week. Last year, it was 6000 in two, with no time to plan or prepare, and the first two weeks of November anxious to get through all the uni stuff that was taking up every waking second of my life. So the fact that I'm set to beat that, if I stay up and do 500 words tonight, is pretty neat. I didn't actually start till Monday, mind you. And Saturday I wasn't able to get any done, unfortunately. But I think I can do it. And the write-in was a decent help in that. And I put faces to names, which was nice too. (granted I already knew two, and funnily enough had already befriended a third the other day on here and met them today without knowing it :p)

Thanks for another fun writing session MLs and other fellow writers!
Thanks especially to Jodie for the loan of her phone, without which I wouldn't have been able to call my hubby to bring out the power cord for my lappie (damn baby brain! *facepalm*). I'm still waaay behind where I should be wordcount-wise, but I've met some cool people, so trying Nano this year was worthwhile just for that. :)

Fantastic turnout again! So great to see you all, and even to meet new faces. Hello!
I even managed to get a good chunk of writing done today - an extra bonus! (Or possibly the purpose of the exercise.) Feels good to give myself some breathing space again!
Looking forward to the next one already. The next cetnral write in ison Sunday 22nd November. Hope to see you all there!

I did 1000 last time, 1500 I think this time (if I count all the stuff I did on the train to and from - wasn't that much, but that's about 400 accounted for, I think...). If this growth pattern continues I will have to do a graph :p (Anyone see that episode of How I Met Your Mother where Marshal has a thing for graphs?)
