If you're going to gently tease our Tallahassee area participants about their word count (or lack there of) as we participate in regional word wars with Jacksonville, Florida and Adelaide, Australia, then this is the thread to do it in. :)

Happy writing, everyone, and may the wordiest region prevail! Also, don't forget about the Donation Derby!

Hey Tallahassee!

If you want to get some trash talk back across the world to Adelaide here's the thread to do it in: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3373793

I would say something nice like "May your fingers be swift across the keyboard..." but I don't think I will. I'll save that for my Wrimos.

Happy Warring!

I'd spend some time trash talking in my horrid green hat (honestly, what were our ML's thinking? I look awful in green), but I have a novel attend to and word count to boost in order to fend off the Tallahassee menace! Quick, Adelaide! Rally before our cause or they will crash our word processors left and right - with no auto save functions!

Ahem, have you in Tallahassee ever heard of the story of The Tortoise And The Hare - the moral being "slow and steady wins the race". Better hope you don't run out of puff, or in this case, words, half way through.

End of Day 2 in BOTH regions:

US: Wrimos in this region have written 444,321 words (4,191 per Wrimo with wordcount)

YOU: Wrimos in this region have written 237,618 words (3,443 per Wrimo with wordcount)

Oh oh oh ! Looks like you're behind!

Half way is almost here already for some of us. Better be careful you're not turtle soup before the end!

Oh, Adelaide's number 79 on the word count scoreboard, but where's Tallahassee? OH, there you are, all the way at 154.

( Best of luck =) )

Don't worry, I'll be spending a airport layover writing thousands of words at the Jacksonville airport. That will show them! My meager word count may not look threatening now, but just wait...

I wish nothing but the best for Adelaide and Jacksonville, and I'm content with my word count and my pace thus far. Even if our region doesn't win--I know I will have done my best. That's all I can ask of my region, and as such, I think everyone that wrote something this month a winner, purple bars or not. It's the spirit of the challenge, and friendly competition, right?

(I know, I know, pretty words from somebody on the losing side at the moment, but so what? I'm doing my best, considering everything going on in my life right now, and that's all I ask of anyone participating in NaNoWriMo.)

So, just keep writing-writing-writing, everyone!

There's still 20 days left. I'm sure you guys could turn it around... possibly (I gotta keep hoping for my side, here!) And we do have hiding from the extreme heat as a motivator! It's amazing what motivates people like: "Write up to X amount and you can go to the beach!" <----- This is working for me!

We're about two hours away from the beach. It is slightly less motivating... um, I don't even like the beach?

There's Ida around today, perhaps people will shut in and write? Eh. Maybe.

Week 2 is killing me slowly, so hats off to everyone trying to write something this month. I'm off to try and go push out another few hundred words (I hope!).

I'll be three hours from beach after nov. That will be sad. It's the middle of a heatwave here so I hope my wrimos are all shut up inside with their laptop hammering out the words! Wk 2! We can do this!
