We have an awful lot of teenaged WriMos in the region, and quite frankly, I'm impressed since writing 50,000 words in 30 days isn't something I would have wanted to tackle while in school or college!

I know it's unlikely you guys will be able to come to meetings (although you are very welcome, and also very welcome to bring a non-novelling parent or friend along with you), but we do have an online chat room at http://writers.sharp-words.co.uk/chat-room. It's open all the time, though pretty quiet on weekdays, and you're very welcome to come and hang out and chat NaNo with your friends - and make new friends too.

But tell me - how are you managing to fit NaNo into your lives? Have you pestered your friends into taking part (or been pestered)? If you've done NaNo before - and succeeded - how did you do it?

I know Im 20 now but Im a University student and I was 19 and starting Uni when I first attempted Nano last year.

Im not particularly sure how I fitted it in last year. I think its cause it was part of first semetser and I didnt go out as much as I was still getting to know my bearings and things. I did forgo a good few nights out to stay in, including my housemates bday. But shes forcing me out this year so Im probably gonna lose a day or two now.

I have coursework due for two of my modules this thursday but as I mentioned in chat, my nano is actually part of one of them. I have pestered a few friends into taking part but I dont think they are as into it as I seem to be. My housemates and other friends are aware of the fact that I participate and they always want to read it but I always tell them they can, when im done! But they encourage me to write whenever we are just idling about with nothing to do and if I get time between classes once my courseworks done, Ill probably get a fair amount done then.

I also only have class 3 days a week, so i guess that gives me time to fit it in. As well as being at home at weekends with no job or anything, makes it easier for me!

I'm actually not in school at the moment, due to complications with switching from the English education system to the Irish one. They do not mesh well. D: I don't really know anyone here at the moment, so I'm noveling all by myself. Still, I have plenty of online writing buddies, so I should be fine. :3

I write a couple of sentances in my file block every time the teacher walks out of the room lmao.

it works quite well actually!

although, its not easy to write a lot, even about 800 words a day, when you have H.E. coursework, geography coursework, art coursework, french orals, german orals, chemistry coursework and homeworks on top of that!!

Awk hello :) I've been looking around the NI forums and was like, I want to go to the Derry write ins and Belfast write ins and do this and do that :L But I can't sadly.

This is my second year doing NaNoWriMo. I sorta succeeded in it last year, but a lot of the plot didn't make any sense at all. So, I hope to write a legible story this year.

Usually, I write when I come in from school (after I've heated my hands on the radiator for five minutes; it's freezing atm and my laptop touch pad is heat sensitive, so it's a bit awkward having cold hands and trying to move the pointer as well). I'm not really falling behind on homework than I usually am, so it's not too bad. Usually I'm too tired to write, hence why I'm a bit behind at the minute. I hope that I catch up over the weekend.

I don't plan on pestering my folks into writing too. They aren't interested. :L

Anyway, hope you enjoyed my little rant :D

Hey, I'm 18 y o and in my 1st year of uni.

Although I fully anticipate my studies from stopping me wreaching the 50,000 mark i'm still givin it a try.

I should be able to make it to some of the monday belfast write-ins so if there's any fellow teens I mite see you there.

I currently have no writin buddies (no1 around here is interested), I think the lack of pressure has caused me to drop behind. I have been tryin to get some guys to join back home at england but no joy so far. Might have to jog this one out solo, but feelin a bit like a hermit atmo (hopefully write ins will help). Already passed on a nite out to get a few hundred words squeezed out. Anyway thats my moanin done.
